Unpleasant Experience – Longtime Customer No Longer Returning I’ve been a regular customer at Florida Fresh Fish, typically spending $150–$200 every other week. I’ve always appreciated the quality of the seafood and the helpful service—especially from a young man who usually assists me by making thoughtful recommendations beyond my standard salmon and snapper orders. However, during my most recent visit today, my experience was incredibly disappointing. I was accompanied by my wife, and instead of the usual staff, a young woman was at the counter. From the moment we walked in, she appeared visibly unpleasant and unfortunately acted accordingly. When I asked for her recommendation, she looked at me with clear disdain and responded dismissively, saying, “Whatever is on the menu board.” I was taken aback—not only by the tone, but by the lack of customer service I’ve come to expect from this establishment. I asked if the gentleman who usually helps me was available, and after a sigh, she walked away to check, speaking to another staff member who was on the phone. Thankfully, he offered a recommendation after asking how I prepare my fish—exactly the kind of interaction I was expecting from the beginning. Due to the uncomfortable atmosphere and lack of courtesy, I chose not to purchase any of the extras I usually do. Frankly, I felt embarrassed and unwelcome. My wife heard the entire exchange, and I tried to point out—without directly calling out her rudeness—how helpful the other employee had always been, but it made no difference. I have no idea what this young woman’s issue was, but her behavior felt judgmental and disrespectful. I was dressed appropriately, arrived in a nice vehicle, and had every intention of supporting a business I’ve been loyal to for some time. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to decide I will not be returning. Florida Fresh Fish has not only lost my business, but also the business of my friends and family who I’ll be sharing this story with. Customer service matters—especially in a small business—and today’s interaction was a disappointing reminder of how one employee’s behavior can undo...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer long long before they transitioned to Florida Fresh Fish. Road construction and trains aren’t enough to deter me from frequenting this spot. It’s the only place I’ve discovered the freshest Pompano. I usually purchase them whole and recently I’ve included a couple pounds of the Pompano filets with my order. They never disappoint on flavor and freshness!
The staff introduced me to Chilean Sea Bass and Golden Tile Fish. Both are amazingly flaky, white and mild-tasting. I work so far away now. So, I check their daily FB posting for updates. I even use their online order system, too!
I love that fact that their phone line is now working!! When I want to switch it up, I go for the grouper, salmon or snapper (or sheepshead, when available). Every now and then a new catch is posted that I’ve never heard of before like Pumpkin Swordfish.
If I’m entertaining family, I’ll get 1-2 pounds of all my favorites to share! If you want fresh fish, this is the place to...
Read moreI called FFF to ask if they had a retail store for the public. I was transferred to a very nice gentleman. During our conversation, we spoke about several fish. I like a mild, sweet, flaky white filet, and the person who was joining me for dinner that night loves most fish. Unfortunately, I can't recall this gentleman's name, but he asked me my favorite fish to eat. The one and only Chilean Seabass. He suggested the triple tail. Like the Tile, I had never seen this fish on a menu, let alone cooked or sampled it. I followed his suggestion. I looked up a VERY quick ( 12 min) and easy recipe and rolled the dice. My company for dinner. raved that it was the best fish he had ever tasted 😮. The Ahi, I had also purchased was fine dining quality add in the price was the lowest that I have seen in quite awhile, I was absolutely amazed!! I will take a 20 min drive to be provided topline service, quality, and cost any day!! This is my new...
