I’m extremely fustrated and can not believe that our Veterans are being ignored when calling for appropriate services that they’re entitled to and had been receiving. I called on behalf of my father who suffers from dementia. I have been calling for over a month and the social worker assigned to the case hasn’t had the common courtesy to get back to me despite the office assistant telling me that she had stated that she would call me back well one month later I’m still waiting and I have no patience left ! This is not acceptable. As I understand, they are inundated with request, but my dad had been receiving PT services and due to a brief inpatient hospital stay due to something not related to the services that were already being provided to him, we’re stopped abruptly without even notifying us until I contacted a supervisor. Today I have been attempting to reach the VA clinic in Fort Pierce for well over an hour, and every extension that I have tried to connect with has either placed on hold, which I was holding for well over 15 minutes never speaking to an individual and all of their mailboxes are full therefore cannot leave a message. I’m sorry, but this is just not acceptable and I will be making a formal complaint. Unfortunately, my dad only has his family to advocate for him since he’s unable to do so and I need to do what I have to do for my dad.! Very sad that it has to come to this And not fear to the people who truly will benefit...
Read moreService is great, very nice people but it is absolutely impossible to get through via phone call. You without any warning go straight to holding, and remain there for minutes. And then the robot says thanks for calling, goodbye. It’s been like this for months and it’s honestly not surprising. Edit: This issue has been resolved, even though the supervisor said no such issue existed, shortly after that phone call from her the phone lines were without issue. Just like everything with the VA, no one’s in the wrong but you. What can I say, at least they don’t offer assisted suicide like Canada’s VA, yet… Yet another edit: I have now been waiting for around two months, maybe longer, for someone to contact me regarding seeing a therapist, I have been referred by my Psychiatrist. This is the VA game, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. I will however leave you with this: These doctors at the VA are some of the most highly skilled physicians and surgeons I’ve ever met. I would rather see them then some random outpatient clinic docs who got their license from behind a McDonalds. The support staff seems to always...
Read moreThis Ft Pierce va clinic and my ex primary care in west palm va hospital is absolutely terrible, it’s a self serving ideology, from the Hospital Admin.all the way down. I have had two open heart operations, a history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I can’t get my statins refilled been out for over 1 yr. I can’t get my old primary care to renew the prescription. They would not schedule an appointment , because I can’t get threw via phone. This system started to fall apart, at the onset of Covid, then they went to online visit’s, then they got impossible to contact. They are very good at covering up their laziness and degenerate behavior and blaming the patient for not scheduling or not showing, when the patient wasn’t even notified of the location and if the appointment was virtual or in person. This system needs serious de funding and congressional over sight. At the moment there’s a fox watching and regulating the...
