I had the Bibimbap with steak and extra gochujang a delicious paste that comes with the dish. I also ordered a side of kimchi. To drink with my meal I had a Matcha latte. Totaling $26 and some change after tax. After I ordered, I went to sit down at one of the four tables and it was filthy. I had to clean it off myself because the staff was nowhere to be found. After sitting down and waiting 10 minutes I got my drink. The matcha latte tasted good, so I was expecting the same with a Bibimbap. And after about five minutes more I got my Bibimbap and extra gochujang. To my surprise the Bibimbap came in a little paper bowl and the kimchi I got for two dollars extra came in an 1 ounce carry out cup and the meal came with plastic silverware. Very very disappointing. The taste wasnât bad but there was gristle in the steak meat and for the amount of food that you get and everything that it was presented with, the cost was too much. How disappointing. At Ryuâs Kitchen for less than $26 I can get a bigger portion of the same dish in a large ceramic bowl, a 2 ounce bowl of kimchi and three jumbo vegetable dumplings. For me this is a one time thing for True Kimchi I will not be back. Maybe the owner of true kimchi should visit Ryuâs kitchen to see a proper type portion and presentation for the amount of money they ask for their...
Read moreso happy I finally got the chance to visit. Absolutely loved True Kimchi. I kinda bought a little bit of everything in the store lol and also tried a little of everything on the menu because I couldn't decide it all sounded so good. First of all the kimchi is delicious (I got the mild napa but I think I'm going to get spicy next time I go... And all the others maybe lol) For food, I got a half order of the Kimbap, the black bean Bungeoppang, & a strawberry matcha latte. Everything was soooo good. Also the gal that helped me at the register and with all my questions about things in the store was so nice. đ (Edit: I thought I posted this review about a 2 weeks ago but apparently it was stuck in my drafts, since then I finished my entire jar of kimchi so of course I had to go back to get a bigger one! Again the same gal was at the front register & she remembered me & was so sweet - Im seriously so bad with names. I was sad to see they didn't have the Bungeoppang anymore but I knew it was a limited time item. But I did try the spicy pork Kimbap and the new mango matcha latte which was absolutely delicious. I would honestly probably go here every day...
Read moreI went to True Kimchi Korean Cafe for the first time. And I must say the shop is incredibly tiny and adorable! So, the grocery store was not what I was expecting it to be, but it also was in a way.
Because the shop was exactly like in pictures and videos, I had a visual idea, which was already noteworthyâ except when I never expected the items to update, being "out of stock," or if new additions were available.
But aside from its appealing aesthetics, there were many delectable snacks therein. However, the Taro flavored milk drink and Sparkling drinks such as the plum, mango, melon, and the watermelon were all fantastic!
In addition, there was no foul smell lingering in the air despite the store being a humbling cafe. It was very tidy, and all the items (products) were neat and well-organized too.
I'd recommend stopping by True Kimchi Cafe for its delicious Korean food and snacks. Because it's certainly worth the experience, especially when looking for something new to taste!
So, foodies, get those items before they're all "out of stock"...
