Poconos Log Cabin Rentals — Local services in Foster Township

Lance and Lisa were amazing hosts for us at the River Lodge. The cabin was perfect for our bachelor party with a fire pit, hot tub, and a bar in the basement. We could even hear the river from the back deck! The best part was how secluded we were from everything, so we never had to worry about neighbors.

We also took full advantage of many of the activities that Lance and Lisa offered. They got us discounts on pretty much everything: we played Jack Frost National (the course was in really great shape), played paintball at the Skirmish Paintball Fields (some of the guys were a little nervous at first, but it turned out to be the highlight of the trip!), and we rented the sauna and cold plunge - highly recommend, we were able to use this morning, afternoon, and night; and the owner Liam was great for showing how to use everything.

For food, we ordered a pig and did the fajitas catering meal. They delivered everything in trays ready to eat which was so great so no one had to cook. Finally, the Holy Ghost Distillery sent a bartender over to make drinks and tell us about their liquor. All the guys loved trying the drinks and the bartender was great. Its a great bonus to keep the extra bottles.

Terrible experience at the River lodge. Stayed there with my friend's family for a week in August. The house was dirty and there were mice nesting in the furniture. We did not bother to contact the owner about the mice because she told us we were "exaggerating" when we told her it was unsanitary not to wash the bedding. The furniture is torn and the pillows were clearly eaten by mice!

UPDATE to Owner's Response 9/3: It's clear that the owner is really going out of their way to discredit my review so I wanted to provide some clarification. If the owner would have taken the time to read the obituary they would have noticed that my father Robert Syverson was survived by his son, Robert A. Syverson. I can assure you that I am very much alive and well and had the unfortunate experience of staying at this property. The owner's response only shows how low they will go and how desperate they are. Lance and Lisa took advantage of my friend's family by scamming them out of their hard earned money. The pictures of the inside of this house online are deceptive and it does not look like this in person - it was very dirty. It's unfortunate that they won't just take responsibility for their actions. Lance and Lisa have a lot to learn about the service industry - their attempts to respond to this review...

Our family stayed at Chateau from January 25 - 28, 2024. We had 8 adults and 9 kids of varying ages from 1 year old to 86 years old!

Working with Lisa & Lance was a pleasure and they were most responsive to our questions and requests. The property manager and staff were available if we had any house issues. They are very attentive & courteous.

Chateau is a beautiful cabin - spacious & beautifully maintained. We kept the fire going continually.

There were many sleeping arrangements to accommodate our family. There are 3 large eating areas which are great for eating and playing games. The lower level with theater and many game tables was a plus!

We arranged with Lisa & Lance a catered casual dinner for our arrival night. Our family came at various times.

The wrap around deck has a hot tub which many people used, with a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding area. We made fires in the outside fire pit and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. We took walks around the large lake which was frozen and covered with snow. Very scenic. The kids also used the golf green. We sat in the gazebo outside with a close view of the lake.
