Update: I originally left a review to share some concerns about unclear pricing during a recent visit to PARLR with my daughters. We were surprised by a 30% price increase at checkout, which was attributed to their long and thick hair. I expressed that this additional cost should have been communicated ahead of time—especially since we had visited before with no pricing changes.
That said, I truly appreciate that the PARLR team followed up with me directly after seeing my feedback. They were very pleasant, professional, and quick to resolve the issue. It was clear they genuinely cared about the customer experience and were committed to making things right.
It’s always encouraging to see a business respond with care and accountability. Thank you to the team for your thoughtful follow-up—I really appreciate it.
Original: I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to share some feedback that I hope is helpful to both the PARLR team and future clients. Recently, I took my daughters in for haircuts with a Junior Stylist and was surprised to see we were charged approximately 30% more than the listed price. When I inquired, I was told the additional charge was due to their hair being "long and thick," and that the "+" symbol next to the listed price gives them the flexibility to increase it. While I can understand that certain hair textures or lengths may require more time and effort, I do think it would be helpful if these additional charges were communicated ahead of time—especially for returning clients whose hair characteristics are already known to the team. In this case, I was told that the previous appointments were undercharged due to an error, which created some confusion and a feeling of inconsistency. As a business owner myself, I know how important transparency and trust are to maintaining long-term client relationships. A quick heads-up about price changes at the time of booking or check-in could really improve the experience and avoid any surprises at checkout.
While we’ve appreciated the quality of service and the welcoming atmosphere at PARLR in the past, this recent experience has made us reconsider. Unfortunately, we’ve decided not to return since we are not certain how much we will be charged in the future due to the "+" sign.
I hope this feedback is received in the spirit of improvement. Thank you for the service you’ve provided, and I wish your team...

Picked this salon because of the Instagram pictures and reviews
Wanted to see Emily Higgins because I assumed she would be the best because of the clients she has. I was tired of not finding a good stylist in my area, so I thought let's reach out to her. What I learned: she's so busy with clients that you can't even get on her schedule for 5 years out or beyond. Understanding because of the status of her clients.
I moved onto another stylist at PARLR. The service was as expected (knowledgeable and confident in the ability to correctly fix my hair). However, I later found out the products used to fix my green tint after swimming, I could of got and done myself. The price was very high however you're not paying for the products, you're paying for the experience and talent. Ok, I'll take that as expected
Not expected: made an appointment for additional services that weren't provided (even though I received communication that they would be). The original expectation was "maybe the stylist would have time" and I was ok with that. However, after that discussion with staff I received a confirmation of said service. Staff made multiple excuses on why my stylists didn't provide service. It was fine that my stylist couldn't provide it but My expectations were different. I never should have received a confirmation confirming that service would be provided if it was a possibility. Staff never owned up to the fact.
Result: a later conversation resulted in a semi apology but not admitting to the miscommunication of confirmation. They offered to "take care of me" by offering a goody bag. I opted for any discount (5%\10% anything really) on my next service to make me happy to return. They declined.
Opinion:
PRO: this place is cool because of the decor. Staff seems knowledgeable.
CON: Cost is high but paying for the experience. If you run into issues, this place has such a following of clients that your issues aren't enough for them to care about. Do not expect any...
Read moreThe Parlr is amazing; I have gotten my hair done (with Erin, Emily, and Jenna), makeup, and photos done here and everyone has always been nothing short of amazing. Not to mention, the prettiest/coolest studio around. Another perk, you never have to look for a parking spot or pay for parking when you are rushing to your appointment! But I particularly wanted to say that I recently got my my photos done with Glory and she was amazing. We usually take family milestone pictures but with the pandemic, we put them on hold. Being in healthcare myself, I was a little hesitant about getting my makeup done or even having our pictures taken but I have been following them throughout the pandemic and I felt confident that they have been very committed to reopening safely. And I am beyond pleased with how professional they are. Everyone had masks on, the staff had proper PPE (mind you, very aesthetically pleasing yet effective looking face shields and masks that can also just serve as a new fashion statement), the plexiglass is in place between everyone’s station, hand sanitizer and masks are out. Sarah did my make up and she used new mascara brushes and cleaned everything before putting it on me. I am so happy they are committed to following protocol in keeping everyone safe. The pictures came out amazing and Glory got my pictures back to us so quickly; we already ordered our family pictures within 2 weeks. She was so patient with my kiddos, which can be so stressful when you are reeling everyone in to get that perfect photo (but we had so many good ones to choose from). And Allison was so sweet, who helped organize and plan our session in what we were achieving to do. Thank you so much for bringing back a little normal to this crazy summer and I can’t wait to try more of your services; it’s really a...
