Incredible food! I picked up a quick feast to go, so I can't say much about the atmosphere or service but WOW is this food delicious!!
I picked up the falafel appetizer, beet burger (no bun, over a salad), with a side of sweet potato fries, which are more like wedges than fries. Everything was cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and spiced just right.
The falafel balls were served over a fresh salad, that added a juiciness to the bite, with a unique green sauce. The sauce added a whole new layer of flavor. The falafel itself was masterfully spiced (flavor wise, no heat). They had the perfect crunch on the outside with a soft inside. This was a very delicious start.
The beet burger is just heavenly! Softer than a traditional veggie burger, which I prefer, but didn't fall apart or was messy. You can tell it was made from scratch with love. The ingredients are fresh and was cooked just right. The flavor is really unique. I was not expecting it to be this tasty. I can't quite put my finger on the flavor, but this is probably due to being made of several different ingredients. It came with a thousand island dressing that adds a bit of a kick. I'm glad I ordered extra salad that came with cucumber. The cucumber and burger complimented the sauce like ketchup to a fry. The beet burger is a must try!
The sweet potato wedges are something unlike I've had before. They are large cut pieces with the skin (bonus bc the skin has all the good stuff!!). They were moist and chewy, not fried and crunchy. I believe they have a light glaze but I am not totally sure. They came with an awesome BBQ sauce that is tangy, smokey, and just the right amount of sweet, that compliments the sweet potato well.
Overall, my first time trying Green Leaf will certainly not be my last! Everything blew my expectations out of the water and could be the best food I've had up here in Massachusetts (sorry, I'm from NJ so good food is a lifestyle LOL). Thank you for providing such healthy and fresh options for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike!
I'm coming for the Gobi Manchurian & Black Bean/Sweet Potato...
Read moreSelf serve at register which is fine. It's just confusing when the guy at the register is in the back and there's noone to talk to. Ordered two appetizers and sat down. Very odd decor with stock photos adorning the bright green walls. In house music playing out front and then classical music behind the counter was very weird. The music also completely cut out for a short while and it made for a very awkward dining experience sitting in silence only interupted by our own conversation Went to ask for water and was pointed to a self serve station. Food came out in to go containers which makes zero sense. Maybe they don't want to pay a dishwasher? Food was sub par at best. We got the nachos which were those circle ones that are most definitely the lowest quality corn chips available. They were also so loaded with toppings (not in a good way) that everything was extremely soggy. The beans looked like they were just pulled from the can and slopped ontop. The vegan cheese was not even melted. Most likely thrown under a heat lamp and let sit. The guacamole was the only redeeming item to this dish. The other was the falafel. They were rock hard on the outside and near impossible to bite or cut. Additionally they had a soapy taste to them. Something I couldn't quite put my finger on but it over powered most of the chickpeas and parsley taste for sure. We had to drench them in the cilantro tahini dip to stomach them. Just those two dishes for $25. You can get much higher quality for a lower price at any other vegan / vegetarian place in the state of Massachusetts. Mark my words on this review, this place will be closed very soon if they...
Read moreBeyond horrid service. On our previous visit the service was already dreadful, but as it was a busy evening it could be overlooked. The hair that was served with in the food on the other hand was utterly unforgivable. We aren’t talking about just a single piece of hair in the food, but a whole handful that looked as if it was yanked out of someone’s head.
This time was even worse. It wasn’t particularly busy at all with maybe about two families of four, and five single tables. Our server was running around as if the building was on fire, and had to be told by the manager several times to take our order. After being neglected for 40min for our two entrees and an appetizer we couldn’t stand it any longer. We asked who we assume was in charge if we would be served at all, and he went back to check in the kitchen. He promptly returned with two dishes. We didn’t even have to touch the plates to tell they’d been forgotten and gone completely cold. They also weren’t even the correct orders, and the appetizer we ordered had vanished into a black hole it seemed. When we told him it wasn’t what we ordered he switched our two plates around the table as if that would solve the issue. When we complained we got sneering retort that they were overwhelmed in the kitchen. We left immediately after that. Needless to say we won’t...
