The place really needs so TLC!! The waitress was very old and slow as molasses, I thought I was going to be her age by the time I got out there. The ceiling and vents were very dirty. I ordered the special, which was fish, shrimp, and scallops and two sides, which I choose Mac and Cheese and green beans for 24.99. I was really thinking I was going to get some decent food. Everything was fried and really didn't have the melt in your mouth feeling. I could have done this at home. The only thing that was pretty good was the green beans, they had really good seasoning. The Mac and cheese was good also. the scallops were really small and tough and fried. I never had a fried scallop until here. Last time too. My wife got the fish and shrimp so it wasn't too different. I don't care for tartar sauce but she said it was really good and probably the best tartar sauce she has ever had. Needless to say, I don't think I will be going back anytime soon, but was...
Read moreExcellent place to eat at, excellent service from the waitress Hope. Looks like she was running the whole show. Looks like she is excellent at multitasking. She handled all customers very well and professional. I saw her amazingly take care of multiple customers while taking orders, checking people out at the register, cleaning up behind everybody, taking care of carryout orders, I know she didn't cook it because there was a cook there but she handled everybody exceptionally well. She also was holding conversations with everybody and still completing her work simultaneously. I thought that was amazing and I actually thought she owned the place. Whoever is the owner here has a star employee with Hope. I hope you are taking care of her because she is running the show. After discovering she was not the owner I was impressed how she took so much pride in her work in taking care of the customers as if the place was hers. What...
Read moreWonderful down home cooking. This place has such great food, that if you come later on a Sunday, they might be out of scallops, or some of the most popular items. That’s just the sign of a real restaurant, where it feels like your Grandma made you the best dinner of your life. We had the Ribeye steak, fried fish, smothered pork chops, chicken & dumplings, macaroni & cheese, butter beans & corn, green beans and banana pudding. The green beans & veggies had an authentic smoky flavor, (no fake smoke extract.) Vegetables were seasoned and cooked to perfection. They weren’t cooked like they were an after thought. The steak was cooked perfectly. The fried fish was the best I’ve ever had. It was not greasy. I am so happy we found this restaurant on a Sunday in the area. What a lovely family cooking wonderful soul food. We ate so fast, we forgot to...
