We've had two experiences at Mike's. The second one today was terrible and ended with the sales person yelling at me while I stood in the rain because I was not told to bring cash after the sales person and my husband had discussed a set of 4 used tires over the phone. Neither my husband nor I had seen the tires to check the quality and I had not intended to hand over my money until I looked at them, but the way the man behaved was extremely high pressured, gesturing and yelling for me to pull around front because he couldn't do the tires where I parked. Well, I didn't figure he would do them where I parked, and I didn't show up to a used tire store with the intention of pulling my car into a bay and having tires mounted that I've never seen. I was getting drenched even with an umbrella so I got back in my car, called my husband and asked if he had been told about the cash requirement. My husband said he had not, and about that time, the sales person called my husband. The man then told my husband he had not disrespected me or yelled at me, it was a misunderstanding, so I called the man and told him that I did perceive that as yelling and incredibly disrespectful and world never expect a merchant or business person to speak to a customer that way. He replied, "That's your opinion and you don't have to buy tires from me. There's a lot of people who do." Then he tried to continue to lecture me about how good he is and how much people like him. I finally had to hang up on him because he wouldn't stop ranting about himself, how many tires he has, that he has lots of friends and contacts with tires, so if he doesn't have what people need, he can get it, and he "doesn't need my business." Meanwhile, I'm driving home without replacement tires after taking my time to drive there and get soaked in the rain while being yelled at and pressured to buy a used product sight-unseen by a merchant.
He doesn't need my business is his response to this mess that he called a misunderstanding. That's good, because I wouldn't go back there, and I am truly glad I didn't have any kids with me to witness a sales/business person yell at me in the parking lot in the pouring rain because of his failure to communicate "cash only" and his assumption that his stellar reputation means a person would not want to examine used tires before paying for them and having them mounted on their vehicle.
The first experience went fine -- used tires in the size we needed, decent tread -- not great for the price but not terrible either and we needed the tires so we took the offer, and no one got yelled at, so that was really nice.
Sum it up: wouldn't go back unless I was completely desperate and would not take children or loved ones with me in the event that the salesman might be having...
Read moreIf I could I wouldn't give a star at all ! Needed a tire and didn't have much money . On the ph was priced a low amount and then once I got there which was just a hour later the price had increased. I have a odd size tire and no other used tire place had the size so went ahead with change . He broke one of my lugs . Now yes I'm female but even I know if something is to tight to not force it but to spray it with some pb blast or wd40. I drove off after tire change and my car was shaking bad and wasn't before tire change . Seemed the tire belt was busted or weight was off. When I called him he was not very nice and he told me come back to replace . I did and was charge another 20$ so now a used tire has cost me 60$!! It's been not even 3 months and the tire is cracking so bad that the sides are bulging out . Went to Pals used tires and was treated so nicely got a tire that looks brand new for only 40$ . They told me that tire was defective. I will never go back to mikes again and I don't recommend them . My family's life rides on my tires can't go to someone who is...

"I didn't say they are on sale. I'm just asking if you have tires for sale." "Yeah we have tires for sale." "Well do you have any on sale for my car?" "Well you didn't give me the dimensions. What's the year make and model?" "Well I don't know the dimensions because most places figure that out when I tell them what kind of car I have. It's a 2012...(cuts me off)" "That's why I'm asking. Ok we are done."(hangs up)
When I called again he said,
"no we aren't helping you." Terrible...
