My first piercing was at 19. I have okay piercers and some really bad experiences. Until I met Julie West. Cleanliness, she maintains a sterile field. She talks you through every step so you always know what she is doing and the steps she is taking. Piercing wise she is great. She is an award winning piercer. But that isn’t why she is the best anyone can be clean and professional. Julie is a good person all the way around. Her smile and kindness is comforting. She makes sure that you are at ease during the entire experience. But still that’s not why she is the best. It’s because no matter what you are going through in your head she makes you know that you are worth every second of her time. She jokes because she is everyone’s mom. But she is. She makes you feel like she is the mom that you always needed. She remembers your face and all the discussions you have had with her. You are not just cash money in hand you are a person and a friend. She is your cheerleader, your therapist, and will get on to you when you need it. Her happiness is infectious. She is the best for a reason because she cares about you as a person. I have had so many piercings and three more this past Friday in very delicate areas. I have had no issues with any of them. I just follow her directions. If I have any issues I know to message her and she can tell me or come up to fix anything. I have never had to have anything ever fixed or any infection. I’ve been poked by her at least 20 times. I recommend her every single time. She is worth the wait or the drive if you live far off. By the way the shop is always clean and every nook and cranny have something really cool to look at. Her wonderful husband is also an amazing tattoo artist and his work by far is the best as well. He has won several awards for his beautiful pieces. Our family has had several pieces done by Matt and he never disappoints. Matt is a well rounded tattoo artist and if he can’t do it he knows someone who can. I have never felt it was about my money in their shop. Haggling is not an option if you want to pay less well you’ll get what you pay for some where else. You may pay less somewhere else but it won’t be as good I promise. I have tattoos that are 10 years old including watercolor and I always get asked if I just got them. They are very family oriented and love their community. They are the best hands down. Walked n on 8/5 (Thursday)to look around at flash and artist books. The place seemed really clean and inviting. People I spoke with were kind. I got with Matt the owner I believe. I decided on a tattoo and he said he would draw something up. He couldn’t get me in until 8/7 (Saturday) I agreed. I had to leave a deposit. They take cash so I had to go to an atm. I returned with the deposit. I was told several times if you can’t make the appointment or if you’re late please call. I assured the lady at the front “ I’ll make my appointment “. I returned on 8/7 (Saturday) at 7:55pm for my 8:00 pm appointment. I was greeted with total confusion. I was asked if I was sure my appointment was today and with Matt. I assured them it was. I was asked if I left a deposit. I assured them I did. I was then told that Sam was drawing my tattoo. “Who’s Sam”. I was then told Matt had someone else in his chair and would not have time for me. Matt never showed up to apologize. I was told they would wave the rest of the fee and reschedule. I don’t want a discount tattoo and I showed up when asked. If he didn’t want to do it he should’ve just said so. I’ve gotten several tattoos all over the U.S. and out of the country. I’ve never been ghosted. It’s sad that businesses do this so often now days. This business won’t be her forever and when it all comes to an end they’ll ask what went wrong. It’s the little things that add up. I'm updating the review: It has been several months now since I got the tattoo (Feb, 2025 update) It has healed well. I am still a little apprehensive about even bothering to go back to this Parlor. I would again reiterate that it is not for first time tattoo people, if it's your first tattoo, go somewhere else. But I forgive him for assuming and for in general being a bit ornery. He does do good work, however he does need to develop better communication skills. Or have a paper of questions about placement, and style wanted.

I will summarize my old review: I was not 100% satisfied with the customer service. They did a lot of assuming. And when I tried to correct him on how I wanted it because it was a custom tattoo. He was like, well, most people don't do that. I almost told him well, that doesn't matter, because I'm not those people. Regardless bottom line is, I did get this tattoo and remembrance of my cat that I grew up with from childhood. And the experience of getting it from Mr. west was not best.
