First time visiting this location. Matter of fact I haven't visited Pyburns since I was probably 8 years old and the store was located on South Post Oak. I was in town and on a mission for great meat prices.
The parking lot isn't the biggest, but it's adequate. The moment I walked in, I was genuinely greeted. I immediately headed to the meat section looking for turkey wings. I found that and so much more!
Being that I'm handling fresh meat I appreciate the grocery bags being readily available. I didn't notice any hand sanitizer or wipes, but maybe I missed them.
The team working the nest counter are gracious and attentive. Every customer who walked up was acknowledged quickly. And one lady couldn't find what she needed, so the gentleman came out to help her. I needed more browsing time and they didn't rush me.
I did browse the rest of the store. The produce is some of the prettiest I've seen around. The general grocery store has a fair selection of items. I'm thinking a quick trip versus full on shopping. Some prices are more than average, but that's normal for this size store.

I have shared the menu with many of my friends here in my local TOWN of El Campo Tx.On my last visit I had to bring back 6 plates of those famous and delicious Oxtails.Now,I get requests to when am I going back so they can put in their order! Also,I love the Meat Dept. and I shop till I drop over there also because the meat is fresh and beautiful and the Guys are always helpful and friendly and the front clerks at checkout is as well.Pyburn's Owners you are welcomed to OPEN another Establishment here in WHARTON COUNTY. Read moreYears ago they were good, then I found out they take the meat from the butcher area and resell it in the meat section. i returned meat once and they accused me of leaving it in the car, but they finally gave me a refund, but i went through h*. I have not been back since, they treated me like I had stolen something. They charge ridiculous prices, and many African American still patronize them. They are other stores, so find one.
