I looked at reviews before I arrived at this Target DC. Lots of bad reviews.
I didn't have any problems. I arrived 90 minutes early. My appointment was for 1400. They have a certain way of doing things. I dropped my trailer in B2 and Bobtailed about 50ft to Bobtail Parking. Walked to the check-in at Door LL.
I went back to my truck the yard driver was pulling out my trailer and taking it to a door. I got a call at 1430 saying my Bills were ready.
Everyone was nice. No problems
Turns out you can Bobtail to the check-in door. I did to get the Bills. When I first checked in I walked just to get some excercise. It was getting hot so I drove to pick up bills then went back to hook up to my trailer. They parked it where I first dropped the trailer.
From the reviews I read I'm thinking a lot of drivers have a hard time communicating and some have real bad attitudes.
When I arrive at shipper/receivers I smile and talk nice and I listen and obey to all their rules and instructions.
When in doubt when you're in a yard stop a yard driver. Most of them are very helpful. They also have a radio so they can asks questions quickly to solve...

The order was delayed. The food items and the chemical were packed in the same box. The items are all open and covered in chemical. Two items were never delivered. The chemical spilled out of the box making a mess on my stairs, table, hallway, and bathroom. I didn't realize the chemical was leaking from the box and when I finally realized it was spilling out of the box, I took the box to the bathroom to open it. I have to spend my time on the phone, email, and internet to get this issue resolved as requested.

Target failed to uphold these standards. Due to that failure, I'm left cleaning up a chemical mess, spending my time with Target customer service, and I have to continue to wait for the items I ordered.

Read moreLooks like Ryder is the company loading/unloading hence why it takes so long. The security guard will tell you average is 4 - 6 hours. Been here twice now, only worth it if you charge them plenty. Really hard to get detention approved here, make sure you get the ladies name when you sign in/out. She'll probably refuse to sign anything for detention. Need to get ahold of Target corporate and let them know how much money they're wasting on labor here. No reason it should take 20 - 45 minutes to load a trailer elsewhere and takes 6 hours to unload same trailer here. Well, unless it's an hourly union... Min charge from Chicago/Minooka $5/mile. I use to like shopping at Target vs Walmart but after the few experiences I had delivering here, no Target for me.
FYI, no overnight parking...
