I feel like there has been an influx of rude employees. I asked for directions to the plumbing supplies from an employee and she actually grunted annoyed that I talked to her. This last visit was no exception. After wandering around for 30 min and not finding what I was needing I assumed it wasn’t carried here and decided to go to a different store right then someone walked by and asked if I needed help.
Her: “hi can I help you find something?” Me: “yes I’m looking for a sturdy T-post or a metal pole or a wood fence post or something like that.“ Her: “sorry we don’t have anything like that” Me: “oh okay I figured since you used to have farm and ranch fencing that you might have something like that somewhere I just can’t seem to find it. ” Her: “yeah we just don’t have lumber,” Me: “I was actually looking for a metal tpost primarily, it doesn’t have to be lumber” Her: “well we have nothing like that.” Me: “okay thanks, do you have anything similar to a fence post anywhere, maybe I can make something work” Her: nope. We have some stuff outside but nothing like what you are asking about” She goes to walk away Me: “can I see what you have outside?” Her: “no” Awkward silence Me: “okayyyy sooo it’s not for sale? Or?” Her: “no I just don’t want to go out there, you can go find the other lady that works here and she might take you outside”
At this point I go on a hunt to find the other “lady that works here” after searching around for another 10 min I find lady #2
Me: “hi I was told to come find you so I could maybe see what you have outside” Her: “okay… yeah I can’t help you with that” Awkward silence again. Me: “okay so how do I see what you have?” Her: “you can go over to the repair shop and see if one of those guys want to take you out there.”
After waiting over there and not finding anyone I go to the registers where the very helpful cashier pages someone from the yard and he met me at the gate and showed me around. He was also helpful. In the yard was a ton of different t-posts, fencing, a few wood posts, etc. exactly what I was looking for.
I then realized that you go inside and purchase at the registers and then go to the outside door and knock and give them a receipt. Not once was I told this from any employee inside. And none of the employees inside know anything about the products outside. I had two separate people refuse to page anyone and just sent me wandering around. If I have to go in here now I avoid the floor employees because...
Read moreWent in looking for specialty electrical items. Had to stand beside an employee doing stocking/inventory process for about 30 seconds before she even acknowledged me. I had questions and felt like I was bothering her. Another employee offered to help and his lack of electrical knowledge was painfully obvious. I knew more than he did and I don't touch the tools (just shopping for my husband). Felt like he was the most knowledgeable person working and after half an hour of wasted time, I went down the road to True Value and the experienced guys there helped me in a couple of minutes. Wish I would have started at True Value. Experienced and helpful employees make all the difference at...
Read moreI went in to get a Stihl weed trimmer repaired at the height of spring repair season with a six month backlog. The repair person took a few minutes of his time and went to my car to see if he could help remove the head so I could replace the trimmer blades myself. He showed me how, helped me get the head off and told me how to repair it. Insisted on not taking any payment for his efforts... Excellent service and will take any future items in to him for repair. Thank you Ed for a...
