If I could give zero stars, I would. I traveled from Tuscaloosa, AL to Fultondale, AL for my God-daughter's 9th birthday party. The party was supposed to start at 3 pm, but when I arrived at 3:30 pm, nothing had even begun. My sister and her guests were seated in the corner where we waited for over an hour. When we finally got into the room after 4:30 pm, nothing was ready! We had to decorate the room ourselves around the guests, and the pizza took another 30 minutes to arrive after requesting it from the manager.
My daughter had turned in one of her Nike Panda Dunks for skates, but shortly after, she decided not to skate anymore. When she went to retrieve her shoe, the one they gave her was worn-out and dirty, and when they brought a second one, it was the wrong size. I went to the front to find the correct shoe, and they couldn’t locate it. I waited an hour while they searched, and even the security guard got involved, asking me questions. When I pointed out the employee who took the shoe, she seemed clueless and disappeared after a brief attempt to help.
The security guard informed me that they spoke with the owner, and his solution was to keep the other shoe and give his staff until the end of the night to find the missing one. I explained that we were headed to another event, and my daughter couldn’t leave without shoes. The owner refused to accommodate us, stating I was being rude for not accepting his suggestion. He hung up on me after saying that was all he had to offer.
At that point, I lost my patience. The owner took no responsibility for his staff’s mistake, nor did he try to see things from my perspective. The manager made me go outside to talk, and I told her I’d be filing a police report since my property had effectively been stolen. Meanwhile, the employee who disappeared came back with her colleagues, and they took a break while the rest of the staff searched for the shoe. One of them apologized, but when I tried to ask questions, another employee rudely interrupted and rolled his eyes at me, saying, "It’s not her fault, didn’t we refund your party?" He clearly hadn’t even spoken to me before that, as it wasn’t my daughter’s birthday party.
It turns out, they had refunded another party because they had been waiting just as long as us without receiving pizza, drinks, or even a greeting. The entire situation was chaotic. After the police left and I realized I wasn’t getting anywhere, I gave my address in the hopes that the owner would send a check if the shoe wasn’t found. With all the stores closed, I couldn’t buy new shoes for my daughter, so my sister gave her own shoes to my daughter so we could still attend our dinner plans.
Thirty minutes after leaving, the manager called to say the owner had decided that if I bought new shoes, I could return the next day for reimbursement. I had suggested that earlier, but the owner dismissed it. I ended up having to stay the night in Fultondale to avoid driving an hour back and forth again. The manager was incredibly apologetic the next day, and they reimbursed me, but the entire ordeal was a massive inconvenience. The staff did their best, but the owner was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. If it weren’t for the manager, Caliegh B., who fought hard to resolve the issue, I doubt I would have received my money back. I will never return to this establishment. And, yes, we missed the entire party while I stood around for over an hour waiting for them to search for the shoe. All the other guests had left by the time...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to take the kids skating for the 4th of July. I thought it was a cool idea cause nobody would be in there on the holiday! Ok, we walk in not greeted by the young black lady with the brown & honey blonde braids. She stated that 18 and older needed to sign a waiver to skate. I told her the kids are under 18 & my husband & I wasn’t going to skate. She still stated we needed to sign a waiver. She was being smart but I’m smarter! Ok, so I’m reading the waiver cause this is new to us being that we have been here more than once. Which you become a regular after your second visit in my book.Anyway once we’re done signing the waivers, we turn back to the window where now we have to deal with this chunky, kinda short white lady with long black hair at the window. She ask how many, I tell her it’s 3 kids. She says ok & we charge for admission. I’m already over it cause when did we have to sign waivers to skate here. She processes to ring everything up on register, total came up to $62. So, I’m like how much is it to use the card? She’s like it’s an additional $2. I than asked how much for my 3 year old with his OWN SKATES would cost? She stated the 3 year with his OWN SKATES still would’ve been 20$ to skate! But they had a sign posted stating $15 to skate and $5 admission on the front of the window but how would the 3 year old with his OWN skates cost $20? Ok so Chunky end up ringing up the regular price so we paid like $42. Which I don’t think she charge for the 3 year old with his OWN SKATES. I take the kids pass the security who was all in her phone, not paying attention and decided to rush my kids through once they got over to her. Whew, we finally get in to get the older kids some skates. We end up interacting again with the black lady with the brown and blonde braids that walked away from us at the payment point. She gives my daughter a part of skates that are worn out and only had one stopper on the front. I told my daughter to go change them out. As my daughter is approaching them, the black lady with the brown and blonde braids asking my daughter what’s the problem? She was just rude to a child, with a smile to her own kind is diabolical. The services was rude from the door and if it wasn’t for my kids. I would left and disputed the charges. But they lost a loyal family trying to be greedy...
Read moreIve gone here multiple times, but not many, and never had this experience. I arrive and I park, one thing you should know before coming here is the parking spots in the middle are really hard to see so i parked right across from my friend, this cop with the worst attitude came out saying I cant park there which is fine, I parked somewhere else, but hours later when leaving a ton of people were parked exactly how I was and one person in the same spot. In the first time in forever there was a metal detector and I went through while the same cop checked my bag as well as my friend which took a good few minutes. I went off in the metal detector because of my jewelry and again she had the worst attitude and said it was all the stuff I had on, she also didnt even check if I had anything in my pocket just in case. They must of got a new management because they all of the sudden got very strict. One of the workers kid was telling my friend to pull her shorts down (which werent even really short) because “her mom may get on to her”. My friend goes there more than me and they have never had a dress code. The whole time we were there (I think the manager) was getting onto people ALL THE TIME over the microphone and it was very annoying. As I said before I dont come here often and Im also not a great skater, I barley can do it so during the slow skate me and my friend were going slow and she was answering someone on the phone and I lost my balance slowing down to a almost complete stop. The lady over the mic says with attitude said something like “you two girls need to move”. There was also a point during this same slow skate she was telling people a specific way they need to skate and if they are not they need to get off. Things like that and kids playing just having fun had her unnecessarily getting onto everyone it got so so so annoying. She also has her kids going around all day making sure no one is using bad language or doing anything “bad”. Im sure they are not even getting money from it. Ive never had this experience here but its not making me...
