If I could leave them more stars I would! Iād like to start by saying my 4 year old son and I have just started getting heavy into the crawler rc world and are still learning! That being said I like shopping local when it comes to my hobbies and RC Hobby was our third shop we have tried! I can say this is the shop and the only shop I will do business with from now on!! As soon as my wife, son, and I entered the door I felt welcomed unlike anywhere else we have been! Otto (the shop owner) greeted us as we walked in the door and we were there really wanting to use the indoor and outdoor course, 10 dollars and we were off to the races! 3 to 4 min into playing on the course Otto (as busy as they were in there) took time and came over to speak and even took time to show my son some tricks and carry on with him! That in itself means a lot to a dad and mom that want their son to be included in a hobby we all love!! If you are looking a family oriented friendly atmosphere to have a good time with people that will jump over the moon to make you feel welcomed this right here is the place! We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent inside to look for WW2 tank and ship models but the layout of the shop is so god awful I couldnāt even properly look around. Only 2 people can be on like either side at a time without it feeling crowded and they have an area you canāt go around so you have to move past a bunch of people just to browse. I was waiting for a family to finish playing with RC cars but I felt in the way every minute I was in there so I just decided to leave. Literally the only way to properly browse and look around is if nobody is in the store. Horrible store layout, wish I could speak for their selection of models but I literally couldnāt even browse it. Feels like every hobby/model shop in North Carolina is designed to make you uncomfortable and crowded. Will not be coming back, donāt go to Hangar 18 in Cary either unless you want to experience smelly man-children obsessed with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moregood stock of parts and full car/boat/etc kits. but the reason im giving it a rare 5 star is this. I went to another hobby shop, in cary, just to compare. I needed an adaptor from one type of battery to my car. the cary shop ambiguously said they might be able to make one, or get one? not sure, they were mumbling. felt guilty, I felt like I was inconveniencing them, and they seemed to not want to do it. RC Hobby just said - ok, hold on. soldered up the adaptors in 8 minutes and sold it to me. the cary shop said my battery probably wasn't good, I should test it or something. RC Hobby tested my battery, and gave me advice on how to manage a battery, and I'm a complete noob, so I asked stupid questions. they took the time. when it comes to spending my money, RC Hobby for sure. SUCH a difference. and if you live in Cary?...
