After reviewing other post and speaking with my neighbors in Galt the consensus is to never patronize this place again. In this case I and my friends were playing 9 holes. We tee'd off at 3:00 and decided to walk. It wasn,t until the 7th hole that we had an issue. There were No golfers in front of us or behind us. Then, two carts showed up on the fairway. Me another golfer were already on the green. Our third was at the 150 yard marker. Just as he was getting ready to set, Chris the Owner rolled up and started spouting how it is Golf rules to allow them to play through. That we were moving to slow for him and his friends. Really, after we had already tee'd off. Chris, (the owner) decided to start arguing with my Army Vet. Needless to say, A guy calling himself the Owner, Chris started spouting that he was the owner and that he has decided, we were out of there. Really!!!?? He cant have a grown up conversation with other men without throwing his ownership card down. He called the local PD to have the 3 of us remove. What a waste of our PD time and funds. We had not threatened him or his mature friends. We had not been confrontational other than asking what and why he was treating us so unprofessionally and rude. We had already started to leave this "course" after being treated so RUDELY!! (As if we would stay.) Just after a few minutes with our team the police apologetically asked us to leave and informed us the ownership has revoked our privilege to patronize this course, Ouch!! As if they were paying us to play the course. What did we do wrong. We were not drunk, or making noise while people were teeing off? No, the glaring issue was we were not moving fast enough for Chris the owner. We were walking, not riding in carts like he was. We would have allowed them to play through if we would have been approached at the tee box. We didn't even know that they wanted to play through.
I strongly recommend that you take a few more minutes and pass Dry Creek Golf Course. Lockford Springs Golf Range is very nice, Emerald Oak in Elk Grove, Bing Maloney in Sacramento are just as nice.
With so many other Public Golf Course available why would you treat a local resident this way, let alone people visiting your course.
I recommend you read the reviews on Yelp. They will all support what I claim happened to us. It has happened to other golfers. There seems to be ONE GLARING PROBLEM!!!...

Now, I'll be honest, I can't really speak to the actual golfing experience here. I'm just getting back into the swing of things (pun intended) after a hiatus from the game. But from what I've heard through the grapevine (and by grapevine, I mean the reviews), the course itself could use a little TLC in some spots. It's like that old pair of shoes you keep meaning to polish but never quite get around to, you know?
But let me tell you about the real gems of Dry Creek: the range, the pro shop, and the restaurant. First up, the range. It's like a little oasis, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main course. It's become one of my favorite spots to work on my swing and pretend I'm Tiger Woods (minus the scandals, of course).
Now, let's talk about the real MVP: Lance. This guy is a master at his craft. I brought him some clubs to regrip and lengthen, and not only did he do a fantastic job, but he also fixed up some eBay specials that had grips so poorly put on, they looked like they were done by a blindfolded monkey. Lance is like a walking encyclopedia of golf knowledge. I've spent countless hours chatting with him about everything from club selection to the best way to get out of a sand trap (spoiler alert: it's not by throwing your club). Owner Chris, if you're reading this, do whatever it takes to keep Lance around. He's a real asset to your establishment!
Last but not least, the restaurant. I'll admit, I had some not-so-fond memories of the food from years ago, but boy, was I in for a surprise! The Teriyaki Katsu and chicken dishes were so delicious, I almost forgot I was at a golf course and not a five-star restaurant. And the lovely lady working the bar (I'm guessing she's the owner's wife) was an absolute delight.
So, while Dry Creek Golf Course may not be perfect, it's far from a hole-in-one disaster. With a few improvements and the all-star team of Lance and the restaurant staff, this place has the potential to be a real winner. I'm giving it a solid 4 stars, because just like my golf game, there's always room for...
Read moreI would play this course again.
I wish I had more photos to share however most photos you see are valid. Biggest issue this course has is the greens, most greens struggle with dirt patches and weeds, however this is mostly around the edges and should you find yourself within 25-30ft of any pin you should be just fine. The pro shop is smaller however there are good deals to be had in here. The bathrooms aren't the most conventional but I have seen much worse conditions at other courses.
All that being said I had a blast here with my buddy and a random we paired with, the course feels huge and the fairways are forgiving, having to drive under the freeway to get to the other side of the course is great, Some really good holes to be had at this course. My favorite part of this course was the practice range. The balls were a great price and the range is tucked off away from the course and nestled in it's own little valley, it's quiet and getting here early is great to get you dialed in before 18, though don't expect a stellar backdrop as its rugged terrain with scattered range marker.
This could be a difficult course for some but only due to green conditions, I still managed to just beat my average and the random we paired with shot a 78 and he showed up hungover and he only managed to complain when he smoked an iron otherwise he handled everything like a champ. My buddy however.... not...
