On March 23, 2024 had the pleasure of embarking on a fishing charter experience that exceeded all expectations. Let me start by saying they graciously allowed me to reschedule my fishing on the day of and push it back by 1 week because my family did not want to fish in the rain. When we finally arrived in Galveston, from the moment we stepped aboard the boat to the exhilarating finale, every aspect was meticulously curated for an unforgettable adventure.

The first thing that struck me was the attention to detail and the level of service provided by the charter. Not only did they provide top-of-the-line tackle and rods, but the cleanliness of the boat added an extra layer of comfort and enjoyment to our excursion.

Located on the unpredictable waters on the Gulf of Mexico, our four-hour journey was filled with real life fisherman excursions. We are novices, so, they explained everything. What truly set this experience apart was the way they catered to families. The crew went above and beyond to ensure that my children were not only safe but fully engaged in the fishing process.

Assisting my kids with baiting their lines and patiently guiding them through the process made the experience stress-free and enjoyable for the my husband and me. And the results spoke for themselves - we managed to reel in an impressive total of 16 fish, a testament to the expertise of our guides ( black drum, bonnet head shark, sting ray, catfish, and sheepfish).

But the highlight of the trip came towards the end when our twelve-year-old and seven-year-old were given the opportunity to take the helm and experience the thrill of driving the boat. Their faces lit up with excitement as they were allowed to do a donut spin, adding an unexpected and exhilarating twist to an already amazing day. Once we arrived back at the port, they fileted our fish and bagged them for us to take home. My children loved the detailed tutorial on how to gut, filet and clean a fish. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this fishing charter highly enough. From the professionalism of the crew to the thrill of the catch and the unforgettable memories made with my family, every moment was nothing short of exceptional. This was my family of 5 (me, my husband, 12 year old son & 10 yr old boy and girl twins) first charter ever. We booked last minute on a Monday . Captain “chop” made sure to fit us in for a Wednesday trip at 6am. A storm blew in on Tuesday night and was going to interfere with our trip so captain “chop” pushed it back for Wednesday at 11. When we arrived Wednesday captain chop was there working hard to get the boat ready. Unfortunately the yacht basin had some work being done and they got pieces of rust all over the boat. The captain was clearly frustrated for good reason. He remained calm and very open with the entire process. We then waited out another storm. Again we had to reschedule. He worked hard to get us in the next morning at 6am again. Once we got on the water we had a blast. Captain Chop knows what he is doing. He was informative and so knowledgeable. He found us plenty of good spots to fish. He had his deck hand help with our 3 kids baiting their poles so that me and my husband could fish with no interruptions. He put the large poles in and my husband and son brought in a 60lb+ sting ray! They also caught a 38inch red fish. We got back and Captain chop cleaned our fish and got it bagged up for us. Another awesome trip with Captain Chop! We took 2 boats with Chop for a 4-hr morning trip chasing bull reds along the jetty. Between our 2 boats, we hauled in 35 bull reds!!! Amazing job by Chop and his crew putting us on fish, keeping it light and fun the whole time and even learning up some of the newbies. This is my second trip with Chop (first trip was with my 10 year old son and another father/son). Chop has an undeniable love for fishing and sharing his skillset with others, whether it's a college reunion trip with friends or taking your 10 year old out for the first time, he meets his customers where they are and does everything he can to show them a great time.
