i have coached baseball for 8 years and been to many locations this is by far the worse facility I have ever been to. The fields are horrible, the place looks ran down and not maintained. On 8/1/2020 we arrived for day 2 of a tournament for travel baseball. The director who rented the field explained we would be under a delay due to the rain the night before. That is fine after inspection of the fields everything looked fine and just needed dragged and base lines put down. As a few teams arrived we noticed a city truck and Surfside police there as well. The city shut the fields down with no explanation and made 32 teams there for travel baseball leave the property, ages from 8-15 now how Un-American is it to run kids off a baseball field? So i ask the person representing the city who was in charge and could we speak to them to get an explanation. People have drove from hours away to play ball and this guy holds the fate? He told me his boss was off and he was in charge and it was his decision to close the field, I have played about 20 games over the years here and it is never taken care of, so they can not say it would have messed the fields up by playing on them, someone just didn't want to do their job. The "Family Beach" should be ashamed of themselves for running kids off who just want to play baseball, they need some normalcy in their life right now and baseball was taken...

Baseball is poorly organized. Not enough uniforms for team resulting in some players having a different color than team mates. Schedule/roster is unpredictable with no planning until the week practices start. Discriminatory toward disabled veteran coaches. Lack of funding is apparent in the poor field conditions and equipment. Lines are sloppy, right handed batters hit out of a crater, and infields with many rocks/holes. Most pleasant part of the league is the umpires they use. Good ole boy system is largely at play with whiney coaches curbing the rules to fit their team. At the 8U level teams have the same kids on the bench for the length of the game instead of teaching them to love and enjoy the sport. This is our third year and each year we think it will get better and somehow it’s only getting worse. Do better Surfside. Be better humans and have some integrity. The twisted people who run this program are the reason why it’s...

This is probably the only place in Surfside Beach I cannot stand we went there for Easter and it was really a farce very disorganized almost as bad as the year before when they decided at the last minute that they weren't having the Easter event I think it had to do with somebody being sick and I sympathize but surely they could have done better there had to be somebody else that could have run it they weren't much better this year it looks like all the employees were disgruntled and there just really wasn't much for the kids to do besides the traditional face painting.I won't waste my time next year the grandkids were disappointed and my grands are not...
