Island Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

The waitress was horribly unprofessional and raised her voice at us because she was upset that we brought in a Dunkin coffee. Instead of professionally telling us that they don’t accept outside food/drink, she proceeded to raise her voice at us about it. After that she went to the bar and we could hear all her complaints. I much rather be refused service than treated like that. Then another server came in and justified her actions. She had to go outside and take a break because of how upset she had gotten. That is not normal behavior. greeted with a terrible attitude. There is a professional way to handle things and an unprofessional way. That was just plain unacceptable. She spoke to us that way with such ease that made it seem that she does this on a regular basis. It’s a shame because the food was not bad. It’s sad to think that she treats customers like this all the time. I would have been completely okay with throwing it out if she would have politely and professionally said it. I didn’t mean to upset her but also she handled the situation extremely...

We went on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend. After unsuccessfully going to to 2 other places and finding crazy wait times we settled on Island Grill. We should have just come here first. No wait for a table and servers even though very busy were super friendly. We were told right up front how long it would take for our food because of the busy night. Not a problem since we were sat and ordered some drinks for our table. Although we had been told how long it would take for food, it came out much quicker which was a nice touch. Under claim and over perform. This mgt team gets it. The food was excellent and we had a great time! Definitely a place we will eat at again in the future. One caveat: most tables are high tops so if you want a table with sit down chairs this might not be the place for you. We are looking forward to coming back to watch some football in the fall with all the TVs they have...

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to watch the English Premier League and this place was close by. The bartender got both our games on the TV and allowed us to change the music to listen to the games while the place was still mostly empty (it was around 11 on a Sunday). This place not only had really nice people running it, but a great selection of beers. They had a cider I’ve only been able to get in England and lots of sours and stouts for my boyfriend (on tap and bottle). We had the gravy fries (a typical English snack when watching soccer) and they were enjoyable! We’d had breakfast so we weren’t hungry enough yet for more food, but when we’re back for another family visit and there’s a game on we’ll be sure to go back.
