I have visited this store as a tourist, and as a local on separate occasions in different years, and every time Payton was working I was treated poorly. On August 8th 2025 I was visiting from out of state and entered into the Magic commander event and before the event i was told in front of the entire store to put on cologne because I apparently stunk, which was impossible considering I had taken a shower before the event, but I let it go and put it on anyways, shortly after Payton hollered my name and asked if my dog was in my car, now keep in mind it's nearly 7pm (late evening) it's maybe barely above 70 degrees outside, and dropping with the sunset and my windows were down at least an inch on both sides, and she had been fed and given water prior to the event, and was heading back to Tennessee after the event. I ended up leaving before the event even started because I was just simply tired of being heckled by Payton. I know the owner Jacob does read these, so Jacob if you read this, you lost a customer because of Payton, your store reputation could be affected, and I'm not the only one who has an issue with Payton, as several people who have been to your store have shared their thoughts with me about him, and the comments were not great or positive. Nobody should have to deal with this when we are simply trying to enjoy our...
Read moreTried to go to a commander night with a friend a while back and the front door was locked and it looked like they were inside playing board games. My friend and I stood there for a moment thinking it had to be a mistake but being clearly seen and ignored we left and hadn't been back. During edge of eternities I tried to get a prerelease kit and it was convenient so I called to see if they had inventory during prerelease. I was told yes they had inventory and but no I couldn't just come buy one. I had to buy and stay and play. I had just worked all day and merely wanted to enjoy opening a new set. It seemed like a nice treat. But again worldfire ruined a chance for me to enjoy magic. So with avatar around the corner I will be driving from myrtle to Cape Fear as they have always been kind, respectful, timely about orders, and im happy to spend the 500+ Ill be dropping as magic visits one of my favorite franchises because my local store hasnt treated me kindly. I wish it was different and so does my gas tank but thats the lengths people go to when they feel mistreated...
Read moreWe came down to Myrtle Beach on vacation and were looking for a place to play Magic: The Gathering and Worldfire Games was the perfect spot! They have an amazing space with tons of tables and comfortable seating, making it a great place to play.
We joined two Magic: The Gathering drafts during our stay and had an incredible time. The Magic community here is fantastic, and the staff made us feel right at home, even though we were just visiting. I wish we lived closer so we could come back more often!
Beyond Magic, this store has so much to offer. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful, and it’s clear that the owners and staff genuinely care about their players, going out of their way to make everyone feel welcome.
The store itself is well-stocked, with a great selection of board games and other collectible card games.
Whether you're a hardcore MTG player, a board game enthusiast, or just learning, Worldfire Games is a must-visit. Support this awesome local small business—you...
