Would have given 4 stars if I had a nice story to share. I took my 7 year old daughter to learn to roller skate. We had no idea this rink was so close, I was so excited. We were going to bring her second grade class for her birthday next month for her party. Until I was accused of stealing this skate crutch thingy to help younger kids skate. A boy no older than ten years old told me I stole his crutch and when I told him I had not, and to go find his parents if he was having an issue, he told me his parents told him to come talk to me. I didn't believe him. so I skated over, showed them my receipt and told the adults he was with about his behavior. The man threw my receipt I showed him at me. littering the rink. He said the boy never said that, that I was lying and 'starting trouble.' It he didn't say trouble. he used alot of profanity and even called me a fat, you know what.
Their entire group was laughing and starting at us. My daughter is shy and gets bullied at school, we didn't need it at this rink. This isn't the 1980's anymore, you should not accept your patrons bullying other patrons. I told management, who said he would handle it. but all I saw was him give a ten second lecture to the boy. His parents were at fault. They should have corrected him, and fixed his behavior, instead they taught not only their child but everyone watching that bullying is ok. So on my single parent salary I paid for the trip for nothing. we literally were there 45 mintues. most of which were either out to g on our shoes , teaching my kid how to skate then the weird experience. The staff was older, I liked them. I felt they would help and tell the other party to stop or leave. or just kick them out. The whole experience caught me off guard and made me sad. we desperately need to educate our children and teach kindness so ignorance can be laid to rest. I guess that's a longshot. Had this never happened, I could have gone back twice a month and had at least two parties there. it was a nice little spot. old school. I'm sorry I didn't get help there or I would have given 4 stars. 5 stars if...
Read moreLove this place. It's never too busy (except on adult nights, but that's kind of the point). Thursdays a great night to come if you like it quiet or want to do a lot of practice. This is my go-to rink because they're reliable, the floor is way more quality than Thunderbird and also unlike Thunderbird, there's less stuck up middle age women scowling at you (no clue what it is with Thunderbird, but the music blows and it seems like it's the same crowd that started going there in their teens/twenties but now they have kids and no life, so they hang out there and stare dissaprovingly at any sort of diverse patronage. Also, please trust me about the floor. Unless they redid their floor recently, its unskatable at Thunderbird).
I can see how anyone could complain the place feels dingy, but the staff care and are friendly. If they could update the carpet and benches/sitting areas around the rink, this place would be golden! I'd love to see what this place looked like at its peak and I hope they have the ability to do some...
Read moreDon't think I will return to this place ever. The guy at the counter was Super RUDE, disrespectful and unprofessional. They don't care about the customers. After checking the hours on Google, website and social media and also called them to make sure the private lessons timings, I drove for about 45 mins and I went on time with my daughter to get her the skate lesson. But when I reached the guy was very rude and he didn't allow us. He said this is not the time it is only for adults not for the kids and their website doesn't say anything about the special timings for kids.I told him about that and showed him the proof but he declined and was Super rude. There were not even many people on the rink and were just 4 and I requested them to take my daughter as she was literally crying but the guy and the lady were very rude and asked us to leave and come back in the next week. All I wanted to say is please don't trust this place even though you check the timings and call them you never know what they are upto until you...
