This is a really nice butcher shop that is wide open and comfortable to walk around in without knocking into other shoppers. They have fabulous spacious displays of an incredible variety of meat products and dairy with fair pricing. I like how fresh and enticing it all looks without it all being piled next to and on top of each other. It’s truly difficult to not want to buy absolutely everything you see. If you ever have an unfortunate problem with any order they will promptly make it right with comfort and ease. They really are a group of incredibly kind people to work with. They take care of their customers in a personable way too. You can call ahead and have them arrange anything for you ahead of time, even special requests. Using the manager’s (Joe) roasting instructions that they publish for customers, we had a heavenly rib roast for Christmas that rivaled the top restaurants in the world. With their vast experience they can answer questions about how to cook practically anything. I also recently purchased and roasted the most delicious Top Sirloin Cap - Picahna, after Joe recommended it to me as one of his favorite roasts and using the same roasting method as the rib roast. Our family gushed repeatedly all throughout dinner that it was the most delicious cut of meat ever. Even reheating leftovers the next day was as delectable as the prior night. If you are following the Keto way of eating, I can confidently say this shop will be one of your best allies. They have a fantastic selection of every cut of meat you could want, some never frozen, and high quality cheeses and butter. They provide a lot of offerings to cater to those of us that value the delicious fat in meats and all its benefits. I don’t think I can just grab meat from the supermarket ever again. I think they lost their way. LOL
This store has a lot of other condiment products in the center of the store too, and that’s nice for those unconcerned with the effects of sugar on their health. All the offerings unnecessarily use sugar or one of its many disguises as one of the primary ingredients, so that’s not something that I want to buy. I’ll keep making my own until this massive sugar boat in our country finally turns itself around (nothing this big changes over night,) and there are more responsibly made products. But I do like seeing how this shop supports local suppliers of all kinds. They even offer dried bones with some meat still on them for our doggies, big and small. The smallest bone is rather big but I have a small dog and I can assure you they can and will handle it and will love you for it.
If you haven’t visited here yet, I highly recommend you take the time to drop in and at least try a boneless ribeye or NY Strip for starters. THIS store cuts them proper, nice and thick! Meet the staff, and get a feel for all that you can do with what they offer and enjoy a new, high quality resource right...
Read more**Update: I spoke to the Butcher Joe a while back and have been back a few times. Customer is better and everything that I have purchased has been great. If I had to be picky, I would like more customer interaction. I will continue to come here regardless. **
What a shame.....I came in to get Femar bones and was going to be a 14 ribeye steak order as well. Unfortunately, the customer service I received from the woman with Blonde curly hair and glasses was sub par at best. I asked for help with the bones first and she showed me where they were. I then asked if they were already split? She said the package says if it is cut and walked away. Almost all the packages said "cut" but some were whole or cut into smaller sections. I needed split length wise for bone marrow. Instead of asking again I left as it was clear she had no interest in helping me get what I needed. Tried to give a local place my business, but now I will just drive out to Reams. What a...
Read moreI was super excited to try out Country Village Meats, but I found my experience to be pretty disappointing. I received a Meat Slicer for Christmas and was excited to try making my own Lunch Meat. I asked the lady behind the counter what type/cut of either turkey or ham would be best to buy to smoke and slice for lunch meat. She said she would go in the back and check with the butcher. Then she came back and said the butcher wasn't sure and that I should probably just Google it. It felt like they didn't have the knowledge that I would expect a butcher shop to have and that they didn't even care about me purchasing from them. I was unpleasantly surprised. I did give them 2 stars instead of 1 because their bacon is great. I have been back to buy bacon several times, but that's all I'll ever purchase...
