As far as the office space and atmosphere it's a beautiful dentist office. And the hygienist I believe mean well but how my son and I were treated today we will not be going back. Which makes me sad because up until our recent visit I really liked this place. We have been bringing my son to the dentist since he has gotten his first two teeth. Mind you my son is 4 with severe anxiety and attachment problems. My husband and I walked back into the room like we normally would at any appointment and were looked at like we were bad parents. And were even told to be quiet when we were trying to quietly encourage our child who was crying while getting his x-rays done and kicked out and told you don't go to Pre-School with your child do you? We were mortified at how they treated us and him. I told them okay let's see how he does without us in the back room. And barely five minutes goes by and they ask us to come back and help him lean back in the chair. They barely cleaned his teeth or did anything, no fluoride treatment. We were told his front teeth were cavities and they needed to be filled but that they couldn't do them there and that he needed to be seen by a pediatric dentist and be given medication probably to help him.....and maybe come back when hes 16. Then while cleaning my teeth I explained we still have to help our son brush his teeth and were told no wonder he hates the dentist.....and the dentist told us themselves and asked us if we even prepared our child for today's visit or just brought him in.....and I said of course I told him. He just doesn't like the dentist he's scared and has anxiety....and answered huh well I have 2 and 3 year olds who have been some of my best patients.....I have never been made to feel like such an awful parent or been treated so rudely in my entirely life. And I hope whoever reads this with young children with anxiety beware. The fact that they don't allow parents in the back with THEIR CHILDREN for their appointment is weird. And when I asked why and told it's policy. And looked at like I'm a crazy mom.....or overprotective....my child is 4! The whole experience was not...
Read moreI have seen a lot of dentist in my day. But none like Dr Cooper Owens and his staff. I am so glad I found them two years ago. The entire place from the ladies at the front desk, to the hygienists, assistants and the dentists are all amazing. They do all they can in their power to make you comfortable to include having tvs in every room that are always playing funny and cute animal videos (who can have a bad day watching that am I right!?!?!?) I will admit I am not a fan of sitting in the dentist chair and I have sat in many in my life. I'm constantly going not only for my cleanings/check ups but, I'm always getting restoration work multiple times a year (when i said many dentists and many hours in the chair, I'm not joking.) However I have never felt more comfortable at a dentist office. They are like a big family there and they make you feel like family too. Everytime I am there one of the staff if not more than one peek their head in my room and say hello and ask how I am. They talk to you like you're a friend or family member. Tell personal stories about their family (to include furbabies...my #1 subject), talk about hobbies, vacations and ask you about yours; and they actually listen. How do I know they listen? The next time I see them they ask about my furbabies, family and about something else we may have discussed at one of my past appointments. A personal story of mine; I found out I had to get a tooth pulled on a Friday (which they got me in right away when i called because I had broken my tooth. I have never had a dentist tell me to come that afternoon.) I was highly upset to be losing a tooth to the point that my eyes started to leak. The amazing assistant who was getting all the things the Dr. would need for the extraction noticed I was getting emotional and before the Dr. came back into the room she had me laughing and smiling (which was literally only a few minutes while we were waiting for my numbness to kick in.) I could go on for days but I'm sure you are tired of reading đ If you want to feel at ease and feel like your at home...Give them a call. You can thank...
Read moreI am a 67 year old retired Dentist and needed one of my crowns (cap) replaced. I decided to try a new dentist that wasnât one of my acquaintances. I saw all the great Google reviews of Dr. Cooper Owenâs dental office, so I decided to make an appointment. What a great experience I had! I actually was scheduled with Dr. Shannon Duqum, Dr. Owenâs associate Dentist. When I approached the office my first impression was, what a nice office building! I knew then that I was about get receive quality care like I provided in my practice. I was greeted warmly by the front desk receptionist and took a seat in the waiting room which was decorated very nicely and I felt at home. I barely sat down when I was asked to follow the assistant to the treatment room. Very professional and nice young man. The entire treatment room area was extremely clean and professional looking. I knew I was about to get quality care. Then to top it off, I was greated by Dr. Shannon Duqum who was going to provide my treatment. I thought whoa, what a cute Dentist! Dr. Duqum was extremely gentle, professional, polite and an absolute joyful personality! Now if that wasnât enough, she had to give me an injection and I thought okay, with all the positive things I just had, I was hoping it would continue. I barely felt the injection and it is a tough one to give! Amazing! The following treatment to replace my crown went extremely well and I was extremely comfortable. Her assistant made my temporary crown at the end of my appointment and it felt just as good as the original! Once again, very professional! So I give the entire office a 5*+ rating and would recommend it to anyone. The fee for my treatment was very reasonable for the professional treatment I received. I can hardly wait to go back again! Thank you Dr....
