Formality Bridal — Local services in Geneva

If you’re reading this, stop what you’re doing and make an appointment ASAP!!!! I am still in awe of how amazing my experience was at Formality Bridal!! I HIGHLY recommend you book the VIB Deluxe Appointment (Geneva location).

First of all, it’s located in an old church (such a neat aesthetic) — they have the original stained glass windows (AMAZING!) and they set it up to feel like you are walking up the aisle as you are picking out dresses!!! I mean c’mon how magical is that?!?

Second, the VIB lounge (Deluxe appmt) where you try on/showcase your dresses offers ample natural lighting for you to really get a good look. The lounge was also just perfect in general for our group to hang out. Beside the lounge is the bridal suite that I used to get dressed — I absolutely loved how it was set up- neon lights, a couch, ample space to try the dresses on, etc. I loved having my own private suite!!!

Third, being a plus size girlie I was a little nervous about selection/styles/general availability dress shopping, but they keep (at a min) 1/3 of their inventory at all times in plus sizes. I had no issues finding my dream dress! It’s absolutely stunning!!!

And finally- the customer service was out of this world! Liz was our bridal consultant and she went above and beyond. She was so genuine, so enthusiastic, so kind, and so extremely helpful!!! I never felt stressed, and I felt so confident in everything I tried on! She has the best energy and personality — I felt so comfortable with her— she felt like an extension of my group!

Where do I start. From the time you walk through the front doors of the sweet old church at the Geneva location, you are taken to a serene and beautiful place that is calm, and elegant. The display of dresses on the racks are accentuated with the string lights throughout the room. The staff are passionate and go above and beyond. I had the pleasure of working with Heather. She immediately made myself and my guests feel welcomed and right at home. The bridal consultation was anything other than formal and dry, rather, Heather asked about me, my background, my fiancé, our wedding date, location, and theme. She got to know me, before we even talked about dress styles. The picking of the dress experience was tailored to me. I was able to pick through gowns that would be just the right size or close with little alteration, and my guests were allowed to accompany me. It just so happens, of the initial 7 we picked, the first dress I tried on, was the one. Heather assisted me and encouraged me to fit me into the dress so I could show my guests. We shed happy tears amongst my guests, and even Heather. There were many other beautiful gowns, but this was just the one! Although I am looking forward to my wedding day, today is now a special memory I hold dear with my friends and now new friend, Heather. I was so so excited that I purchased two dresses for their 99$ live event sale on fb. So I thought hey let me book an appointment at the Geneva location to pickup and try on these and ALSO try on other dresses so I could get an idea of what looks good as this was my first time ever trying on dresses! WELL when we got to the store the owner penny was So rude and passive aggressive. Like what!! She asked what my goal was of this experience and I said to try on these dresses I purchased and other ones (what if I did not like the ones I got) she goes WELL we are losing a lot of money from you and this FREE appointment to try on dresses mind you the appointments are free? What if I never purchased these dresses and I came randomly from an appointment and didn’t buy any in thr first place? She told me I could ONLY try on the ones I purchased and three other dresses LOL LIKE who says that, what if I wanted a third dress for my reception??? So I tried on my dresses and I said ok can I try on others to get the full experience of what looks good, the younger lady said no I’m sorry my boss said you can only try on three???
