The people are nice, facility is clean and well organized. The auction I attended moved along well. The problem I have is the cost to sell items is high at 30% of sale price. This after the house also gets an additional 12% from the buyer, unless paying cash then 6%. This gives the house $36 to $42 from every $100 of sold items.
Update: So, took some items to be auctioned, disappointed, to say the least. This place is very specialized, it was a mistake taking my stuff there. They did not even try to sell at least half of what I brought, and I had to bring home. Not to mention the missing items, things not sold, yet not in boxes brought back. This is more an outlet auction house for a small group of buyers only interested in certain items. Otherwise, stuff is basically given away. Because of limited interest, unlike a home auction where you have a broader selection of people buying. Live and learn. Will not be back to sell. Unless you don't care about how much $$ you get for your stuff this is...
Read moreWent today and was disappointed. First of all, the computers went down. Second, the two young helpers were clueless. Third, the auctioneer had his son step in and his son had no clue what to do.The auctioneer and his son start talking at the same time trying to keep everything running and the son gets frustrated and hands the microphone back to dad. Lots that were advertised in the photo ( specifically the barbie dolls) were then "accidentally" sold apart and instead of correcting the mistake, auctioneer said," Oh well, we have been on vacation and are trying to get back into swing of things". So going on vacation means you don't auction things off that you specifically had lotted together and you just do whatever the heck you want? Also, another lot they say were are selling the figurines and ends up selling the playsets. How can we the buyer know SPECIFICALLY what is included in the lot when you say one thing and then includes others? This was a mess and very disappointing. We will...
Read moreThis place is a total setup. We don't know if the auctioneer is in on it but the bidders are definitely in cahoots. When their consigned items come up for bid, they bid on their own items, or items of the friends in the group so the price gets jacked up. When an outsider of the group has an item up for bid, nobody will bid on it until the auctioneer lowers the bid to a ridiculous $2.50 and one person in the group will bid and win for the opening bid.
The auctioneer is inexperienced and guesses about what the item is when he doesn't know. He sells a lot of fake sports memorabilia. He sold $2 bills for less than a dollar when the bills were put up by someone outside the group. This is a planned auction so the locals buy low and sell high. Don't waste your time or money, there are plenty of honest auction houses with better...
