High Prairie Landscape Supply — Local services in Town of Bloomfield

I have been going to High Prairie for years for mulch and other landscape supplies. Very friendly and knowledgeable people. The former owner of my home used a different landscape supply company for the aggregate stone around my home when he owned it. Luckily, the former owner left the receipt with a description of the stone; Rockwood Nuggets, Autumn Smoke. I bought $146 worth of stone and spread it all around thin areas. It appeared a lot lighter in color but I assumed it was all the dust on the stone and it would wash off and blend in. It did not and looks terrible. I came back in to High Prairie and explained the situation. The gentleman (owner I presume) that was there explained that the stone from my receipt is made in a different state and is not the same as their stone. He said High Prairie is not Rockwood Nuggets (the receipt I had from the original supplier said Rockwood Nuggets). I am not sure why he did not say anything when I was originally purchasing the stone (he was listening to me talk with the other employee and is familiar with the other landscape supplier’s “Rockwood Nuggets” Autumn Smoke stone). I called the next day and said we both are probably at fault for the mistake. I should have not assumed the rock dust would wash off and blend in. I asked for a discount for the mistake that was made by both parties since I now have to go to the original supplier of stone and buy a bunch more to cover up the High Prairie stone. The owner refused any kind of discount or blame. He did not care about my situation. At the end of the call, I asked if he was even up for a 10% discount for customer good will and understanding of the situation. His response; absolutely not. I was shocked. I can afford the additional stone but just figured there would be some understanding and good will toward a repeat customer....
