The apartments here are overpriced for what they are. The only reason they’re marked up is because they have granite countertops and newly installed plastic flooring that looks like wood. I’ll give you the breakdown...
CLEANLINESS: Upon moving in, we noticed both German and American cockroaches crawling around the place. Before moving in, the unit was not clean. The floors were covered in dirt, there was even a dead lizard on the floor of the closet, some dead and living roaches, and several hairs in the bathtub. There’s the musty roach infestation scent to go along with it. Balcony was littered with paint, multiple screws, and other debris. Yuck.
CONDITION: No weather strip on the front door. There’s about a 1/4 inch gap at the bottom of the door where air conditioning is easily lost and all the current roaches rooming with us can invite their other roach friends. I’ve called maintenance over 10 times (not exaggerating) and spoke with the manager a few times, yet something as simple as a weather strip has not been repaired. Came by to fix a vent and had an old one in hand. It looks like someone needs to supply them with what they need as they seem to try their best. I don’t blame maintenance for any of this, this is a management issue. Perhaps more maintenance should be hired and there should be enough tools and materials for them to work with. Also, holes in the walls, paint sloppily thrown on the walls and cabinets with drip marks everywhere and things painted over. NOTHING LIKE THE MODEL. If they get it together and give me something good to say, I’d be happy to. But so far? Nope, not much. Stay away from this trashy place disguised with some basic granite counter tops slapped on top of painted-in-a-day cabinets.
Also, we’ve been here a couple weeks and they have yet to give us a mail key (they said they’d call us when it’s ready, but where’s it at though?) Don’t move here if you ever need to receive mail.
Good things: Taylor in the office is nice. Neighbors don’t disturb us in our building. Close enough to downtown. Maintenance guys are polite and do what they can although it appears whoever is in charge of providing them with their resources is slacking.
EDIT: We have now been waiting SIX WEEKS for a weather strip that was supposedly arriving 2 or 3 weeks ago. Six weeks of a huge gap under the door. Also, no one gives you updates on any maintenance unless you go into the office to discuss an issue for the 100th time. Also, there’s been a hole in the wall that was here when we moved in. No update on that which was looked at a few weeks ago either.
My advice is walk through the specific unit you’re requesting before signing any leases!
Second edit: I have waited EIGHT WEEKS for a weather strip on my front door which has a significant gap at the bottom and a bathroom vent to be fixed (the maintenance guy never returned after putting some old rough looking one in maybe 5 weeks ago which didn’t work either). I gassed up maintenance a bit too much before—they’ll come into your home when you’re gone and leave their urine all over the toilet seat (seriously, take some toilet paper and wipe off your pee. Not difficult.) Taylor apologized and stated she would discuss it with them. The incompetent “manager” Stacy Conley is gone, so hopefully something will change. If it does, the amount of stars I give this place will increase. I don’t want anything fancy, simply an apartment in decent condition. It’s easy to make me happy...
Read moreIf it was possible to give zero Stars I would. I've been in this complex for 2 yrs. We have septic problems, we have black mold, we have AC units that don't work probably, and we have no proper lighting. We were NOT informed that our complex was being sold. I've been told that our new management is going to jack our rent up over $150 more than what we've been paying. Everytime my lease comes up I tried to move to a different building and stay in the complex but they wanted to recharge me pet and deposit to move into a different unit. The new management has taking bit off more than they can chew. Under the temporary apartment manager who is no longer with us ( I wonder why) was trying his best to help us all out. Only a couple of residents were able to get brand new AC units you have vents that barely blow out cold they stay on constantly and you end up with a $300 power bill. They talk about new paint, new Landscaping, new fencing making it a gated community..... and doing all the outside when the inside of the apartments are so out dated. The renovations will be done while we are in our homes during the process our kitchens will be completely gutted getting new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and pulling all old carpet up and putting down roll tile all of this will add up to being a $150 more for rent for the same apartment. We have been unable to have a washer and dryer do to the water leaks that leak downstairs. When I moved into my apartment it was not ready there was a ladder in the living room no paint no sanding nothing being fixed from the past tenant. We have issues with bugs was told that the Exterminator was coming never happened. As I am told maintenance is working as hard as they can on the AC problem. So far they've put in Freon and a new thermostat. It is still 80+ degrees in our home and its making it extremely uncomfortable to be here. I have made the new management aware of all the issues that I have had in my apartment they are as they say working diligently to rectify all the problems that the complex has so far we have strange colored paint setting up for a gated community and tearing down old fences their main concern is fixing and renovating the empty apartments and eventually will get around to the tenants who live here. I along with all the rest of the tenants who have complained about poor AC, poor Landscaping, poor maintenance , water leaks, black mold , old carpet stains that do not come out and carpet that literally pulls up as you try to clean it. It would be nice if we had some kind of idea of what Renovations they plan on doing to our homes you also have to sign a full year lease, deposit, and pet deposit too. Why you ask I still live here well the price was reasonable for a two-bedroom in this area anywhere else you try to get is over $1,000 and as we see now this will be over $1,000 when they add the new kitchens and new flooring and the gated community in a whole we still have no pet Park no playground no basketball goals the pool will have new decks and new fencing the tennis courts will have new fencing and be broken down to different things which the children only use to ride their bikes and no where to take all our furbabies. If you plan on moving into this community I would stress highly looking at the new Renovations. Diligently doing your research and checking out what you can get for the same price. I myself plan on getting out as soon...
Read moreMoved here a few months ago since my last apartment was unsafe. This is no better sadly, had multiple encounters with creepy resident who watches me go in and out of my car and my unit. He waits until I go inside to then go inside too. Often lingering around, staring, and taking pictures.
The day I was supposed to move in, the unit was a mess. No doors on the closet, bathroom cabinets were broken in, the door was left open all day, overall filthy. Thankfully Tyler said he wouldn’t accept this and helped me move some of my belongings to their model unit. My back door has not locked since I have moved in, requested for it to be fixed that day and still nothing. Fire alarm was unwired, just was able to get it fixed after months of having a “maintenance request” in. After the crew came and fixed it they did leave a paper saying that is was low priority, which I disagree. If one of the smokers left something out I wouldn’t know until it’s too late. I was told that the gate was “struck by lightening” and that’s why it’s out, but after reading other reviews it has almost never worked which is disappointing. I believed that it was a gated community.
Horrible neighbors. They let their children run and scream at all hours of the night, repeatedly kicking balls at my door and walls and running scooters or bikes into my door. I have spoken with them multiple times and it stops for a day or two, then back at it. Constant accumulation of clutter in front of their door. Grandma screaming at child, child screaming at parents. Everyone is screaming. As I was in my car the child was throwing a tantrum and decided to lean against my car and attempt to open my door. A loud household with 5 people in a one or two bed apartment.
My apartment constantly smells like weed. I am not a smoker and ever time I entire my bathroom I feel as if I am getting second hand high (yes it’s that bad). The smell travels throughout my entire unit especially through the night.
I have roach traps out everywhere, I leave no food or trash out and somehow I always manage to see roaches in the bathroom.
Trash all throught the property and cigarettes laying on the landings everywhere. The same goes for the laundry room. It is beyond unclean with things laying around (lint, boxes, clothes) and smells 24/7. The mail boxes are trashed as well. They barely close (if they even do).
I am disappointed that I pay so much money for what I thought was safe. My parents came to visit and were worried about my safety living here. After reviving notes on my car, being watched, and many other things, I had to take my own security measures. The apartments are old and it is what it is. You can expect thin walls, which is fine but the no urgency to fix security needs to be looked at. As nice as Tyler is and his vision of what this place could be, it’s frustrating that there isn’t more help or success coming from their attempts. I have no doubt that they are trying but I believe it is the residents that are running the community down. I have met some very kind people here, but the other half simply don’t care and have no respect for others. Just be weary of who you are living next to. I was told they run background checks but it is getting hard to believe that with the sketchy...
