Pardesi Grocery — Local services in Glendale Heights

Called in for a meat order and was told that it'll be ready by 4:30. Show up at 4:30 and gather some items to purchase and place them on the counter at the corner, away from the stores business. I mentioned the meat order for pick up and was told to wait another 30 minutes. I wait. A woman dressed as a Muslim makes a purchase and takes 2 of my items. When I make my purchase and ask the guy at the counter about my items, he says, "Maybe she took it." Anyways, it's your fault. You should not have left the items on the counter. Wow. Really. So it's my fault another person, an alleged Muslim lady, steals the items I'm going to purchase. He didn't even ask her if the items were hers. As I'm making my purchase, another lady places her stuff on the counter to buy. I move them towards my items, but this counter then asks me, "is that your stuff?" Why didn't he ask the lady that took stuff that same question? When I asked him, he went crazy and said that it's my fault and that he couldn't see everything that went on the store. He began smart mouthing me. This Muslim guy has no customer service skills! He is probably racist against non-pakistanis-non-indians.

This is a great small business. It's bigger than the average grocery store therefore has a lot more things. My one stop shop for everything desi. Includes basic things in every desi grocery store of course but also take out food, frozen food, a wall dedicated to masalas, a wide selection of certified zabiha halal meat, some vegetables, a range of mitai, and more. Also there are some things made by the locals which are also sold here like the gulab jamun right next to the counter. Absolutely delicious.

The customer service is great, kind and helpful people. Good sales during Eid time.

I called to make an order for meat at 5 pm! The guy on the phone tells me, "we are too busy and packed we are not taking any more orders today and cannot take your order!" So rude with a very mean voice. First of all, mind you I go to Mediterranean Market because they are nice people and good service, but I had no choice so I had to call them. The guy has the nerve to tell a customer on the phone he cannot cut a damn chicken breast? Just chicken I had to pick up and he said "no call tomorrow" I said "no I will not be calling this store." This is very bad customer service and if anyone reads this, just know that this store owner and people have no manners or professionalism on how to speak with consumers.
