Love, love, love this place! Their dishes are on point, just the way it should be, the traditional way (not altered nor commercialized, and hindi tinipid 😉). You can tell they’re cooked with a passion. They’re always fresh and price is reasonable. The place is clean, the staff are very well mannered and friendly, and service is awesome. Oh and the desserts, baked goods and different kinds of kakanins are scrumptious! Which is what they are known for. Puto, kutsinta, pichi-pichi, sapin-sapin, puto bong-bong, ube cake, mocha cake, biko, sans rival and so much more! These are just a few of their signature ones. What amazes me is the consistency. Everything tastes the same as they did from more than 20 years ago or even better. They even kicked it up a notch by adding the buffet, with a wide a variety of authentic Filipino ulams, refreshments, and of course their famous desserts. I’m originally from Chicagoland then moved to SoCal. When I visited Chicago this year, this was my first stop 😉😁☺️. I sooo highly recommend this place. If you want real traditional authentic Filipino food, this is the perfect spot! You must stop by! P.S. Their Empanadas...
Read moreOpportunist, exploitative, are a couple of words I can think of to describe this place. Not the cleanest place for a cooked food store either. I'm only patronizing it because Manila Fiesta closed! THIS PLACE PRACTICES PRICE GOUGING! Yesterday, I called to order lechon. The lady told me it's $70 for the full tray and $35 for the half tray. However, she couldn't take my order because she was busy with another customer who was in the store, she told me to call back. I called back today, a different person answered the phone. She didn't know the answers to my questions, she was screaming the questions to another person in the store (unprofessional). She then came back to the line and said they don't sell by half trays. I told her, I was told yesterday that you do!. Then she screamed to the person again... She then came back to my line and said, it will be $45 for the half tray! What on earth!?!?! Kabayan, that's just not a very smart business practice! Do you expect your customers to haggle prices? SET YOUR PRICE AND STICK WITH IT! This is the United States! Wala ka na sa Divisoria! You just...
Read moreI highly recommend the Bakehouse because not only they have the best of my favorites.... Empanada, Egg rolls, Turon, Garlic Hopia and Beef Caldereta and Dinuguan ... they also have the best kakanin in town, biko, assorted rice cakes, and Cassava Cake!!! All foods i tried there are really good, some might not be what i was used to but they all taste yummy. Very generous crew that if they can only give you the large for the small order, they would. Sometimes i get free turon :)
For that guy who said they wanted to be millionaires, who doesnt, but dont be so judgemental with one experience. We barely know the people and it wouldnt hurt to ask for a little more if you feel you didnt get enough. Your experience is totally opposite for most of the new and regular customers. They almost give the foods for free when they fill containers.
And Marie, i feel you, had bad experience too but gladly that lady is not there anymore to make things better.
To the Bakehouse, keep improving and thank you for serving us...
