M Beautique Salon — Local services in Glendale

I went into the salon today for the very first time based off of the reviews and then the call I placed to them inquiring about a women’s haircut for myself. They were able to get me in same day due to a couple cancellations and the receptionist was very welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, kind and she allowed me to talk and explain my entire situation to her on the phone and she put me with the stylist who would be most fitting to my hair/medical situation. She schedule my apt with Erica S. Aside from a trim here and there this is the very first haircut I have ever gotten in all my 48 years on earth. I was diagnosed with SLE Lupus a few years ago and one of hundreds of symptoms of my disease is hair loss but not balding hair loss, weird hair loss. I was never allowed to cut my hair as a young girl and by the time I was an adult I didn’t have any to cut my hair therefore until I started losing my hair due to lupus about 5ish years ago I have always had very long and healthy hair. I have a very unique hair situation and have already decided that I wanted to cut my hair off into a bob type style. That’s very scary for me considering I have only very had long hair. Again my apt was with the stylist Erica S and I have to say that I could not be happier with my hair, with her or the salon. She is an incredible hair stylist, an incredible human who I think I can now say that not only due I have a new stylist but also a new friend as well. We are exactly the same age, I am only 1 day older, we were born and raised in this same state and very close to the same area of the state. What’s crazier is we share the same taste in our love for music which is not common for the women where we come from: so not only did we really deeply connect but Erica fixed my hair so well that I love my hair more than I ever have my whole life. My whole family loves it too and it is a very drastic change from what it has been my whole Life. Not only did she make me feel like I won the 10 million dollar lottery but she also spent a lot of time educating me on how to care for certain areas of my hair based on what my disease is doing to my hair as well. She showed me how to style my hair the way that she did today but also taught me how to do several other things as well. I won the hair lottery today; the salon lottery, the reception lottery and the hair stylist/friend lottery today as well. The salon also does not only hair but lashes and nails too: I am so happy I found this place and Erica today and I could not recommend them more. I used to come here very often for different services, deep shampoo, and hair styling, toner, and my daughter as well. this weekend the girl on the front desk with orange hair, tried to over charge me for my regular hair service, first she said because my hair was too long, then she said because my last minute appointment and her last excuse was because the stylist was more experienced than others, what is very ridiculous I was last week there and the owner gave me same price as usual and the price was always the same, the receptionist girl wants to charge me $45 dollars extra, of course I refuse to pay. I ask to speak to the owner but the receptionist refused to call her. Very disappointing how anyone can rise up the price...

Called M Beautique very last minute hoping they might be able to get me in same day. The receptionist that answered was very kind and checked for me and got me scheduled for a couple hours later. I have been hunting for someone who is comfortable cutting short hair on a woman and everyone I've found so far was timid and messed up my hair versus admit they were not comfortable cutting pixie cut. But I can say I've found my forever stylist at M Boutique. Tammy was so polite and professional. She did such an excellent job on my hair that I booked my next appointment already.
