The golf course and layout are great. Feels like old style traditional layout and seemed to be well maintained. The pace of play however, is far from great. Being the second group off at 6:40 am one would think you could get a fast round in before a meeting or planned event, NOT at this place. Split tee times that are stacked way too close together leaves you making the turn to find out that you have 3 groups ahead of you that need to start their round on #10, so your stuck waiting for over 30 minutes to have what would be a 4 hour round or less at any other course when teeing off that early, turn into a 5 hour round of golf. Then when you realize you don't want to wait for 3 groups to tee off before you can make the turn you go inside to get a refund to walk in on the starter and the maintenance man all talking about you behind your back. CLASSY GUYS! I'm 32 years old and we have 60+ year old men making jokes about how 2 respectful golfers just didn't have time to wait behind 3 groups that the course stacked in front of them. Would never go back to a place where a round takes over 5 hours for the second group out in the morning and to have some pompous old men snickering about how you don't want to sit behind that. If we were rude I could see that it would be a topic of conversation, but we were polite and told the starter that we have somewhere to be and cannot continue the round knowing you have a 3+ hour back nine ahead of you. Word of advice is if your going to do split tees, plan better, spread tee times out a few more minutes, let the customers know your doing this and don't make fun of your paying customers because you never know when they will walk into your conversation and hear you talking about...
Read moreVery friendly golf course that caters to the all golfers from experienced to beginner! The newly renovated clubhouse and restaurant is spectacular and is one of the top clubhouses in minneapolis. There is a great selection of food, drinks, and beer. Brookview Gold Course has a full 18 holes and a short 9 hole par-3 golf course at. There is also a nice size driving range that can fit close to 30+/-10 practice mats across depending on the year and is close to 250 yards deep, running right along I-394. There are mini greens / flags with yardage markers to help gauge the distance of your shots. If someone is able to crush their drives over 275 yards, you might want to keep that club in your bag or else you may hit the kids practicing on the opposite side of the driving range. The prices for the driving range and golfing 18, 9 or Par-3 here, at Brookview, are extremely reasonable compared to many of other similar golf courses around the metro area. Rates are even cheaper when you book tee times during twilight hours! There are brand new golf cars that have a GPS screen to show you the exact distance you are from the hole! Brookview also has a very nice Lawn Bowling area which makes the atmosphere much more lively and more things to do. If you haven't tried out lawn bowling this is something to consider during the summer months with a...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews, but this place was such a disaster that I felt I had to share. First off, the course is in horrible condition. The tee boxes are uneven, making it tough to even get a decent shot off, and the fairways have huge dead spots. It’s like they don’t even maintain the course properly. It's honestly embarrassing how bad the condition is for a golf course.
On top of that, we spent a ridiculous 3 hours to play just 9 holes. It felt like no one cared about the pace of play or customer satisfaction. Played several times and there is never a ranger or anyone out there checking pace. Collect your money and they don't care.
We figured we'd try to salvage the day by grabbing a drink at the bar, but that was another mistake. The bartender ignored us for several minutes, and when they finally came over, their attitude was rude and dismissive. We felt completely unwelcome.
This course is not worth your time or money. There are so many better options out there. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
