Colorado Car Audio — Local services in Golden

I am 77. I've had 5 Lexus Autos. For my 1st brand new car, in my life, I bought a 2025 LEXUS NX350 (LUX). It had a "Mark Levinson" sound system. 18 spkrs 1700 watts. I had immediate problems about high frequency distortion and weak kneed base. Dealership had no test equipment and said no one else could hear it. They thought base was good. Said to me, "Turn it down you can't play it that loud". Second, very big name, national playthings auto audio chain, also told me I was playing it too loud. I did not pay $60K for my car, to be told "you can't play it that loud". Balderdash! I finally found, Colorado Car Audio, in Golden.

Voila, I have found the rocket scientists of car audio. Immediately they put Mabel(car name) on test equipment and validated my complaints.

My question, "What can I do?" Moe put me in New Audi with a system they just completed. It was something I had never heard before. EVER. I said, "I want that". Mo said, "Art that cost $22,000". Took my breath away. I squeaked, "Maybe 1/2? but could you please get the sound closer than 1/2?" Moe, said, "Let us do some research. We'll put something together for you". That is what they did, very close to 1/2, and they never asked for a penny more, but should have. I had butterflies & weak knees. I was just divorced from 43 yr marriage, and I said to myself, "What the heck! I'm goin' for it".

I trusted these guys. They really know their products & business and are very friendly. When they talked it sounded like a foreign language to me. "DO IT" I said.

I put $11K in. I got so much more out of CCA, than I put in. Everyone at CCA, is the best. I know, because I put after mkt stereos in all 5 of my LEXUS autos. CCA, treated me like family. Zack worked miracles. Nick always kept me in loop. Moe, talked tech like it was his 1st language. He makes everyone feel at home. He's an honest man, and he makes sure CCA, lives up to their reputation.

Lexus, didn't make it easy, to work a great sound system on 2025 models, thru their computers, w/o hurting the tech functions & car operations. When Zack started on my car, I could not turn the volume past low 30s, w/o horrible distortion. It took CCA's, expertise, confidence, my patience, faith, and their miracle working, and dogged determination over a four month+ time frame, to finally work out the tinniest bugs. I am a patient man, and very sophisticated listener. Also I might be a touch picky. Miracles can happen, and did.

What I have, is way beyond my ear's belief. I can push the volume well past "50", w/o the slightest distortion. I have crystal clear, mid range and Upper ends. I cannot describe the base. You would just have to get in, listen & feel it yourself. Outside, the sound dampening is hard to believe. Inside the sound is phenomenal.

Guess What? My sound is BETTER THAN THE AUDI...!!!!!...YES!!! I love it when a plan comes...

First off I called a couple weeks ago and nobody answered the phone, I did not leave a message and guess what someone called me back like 15 minutes later. I can't ever get anyone to call me back (in general) so I was initially very impressed with that.

Next I bring my car into to receive a quote to replace my factory speakers. I had already bought what I thought was compatible. After Mark (I think sorry terrible with names) took a look, it was determined that what I thought was a blown speaker actually wasn't it was just a raddle in the door. Turns out replacing the factory speakers with new in my car isn't as easy as it sounds (bose system) and would be very costly and not sound any better. So what could have been thousands of dollars to upgrade, mark was able to isolate my issue and fixed it right on the spot. All for $100. I'm an incompetent buyer so they could have really taken advantage of me but they were straightforward, honest and had tons of integrity.

This is a great local, family owned business. Do your self a favor and skip best buy or car toys and go to the local guys they'll take fantastic care of you. They are also opening up another shop doing lifts, wheels and things along those lines. Believe me if I ever have any additional needs in their wheelhouse I'll be back in a heartbeat.

I bought a new RV based on the Mercedes Sprinter which I loved everything about, except the sound system. I searched for and met with a number of professional audio installers before settling on Colorado Car Audio. I really appreciated what felt like honest conversation and a firm knowledge of working on Sprinters. Moe and team was able to make time to work my install in on pretty short notice before I left for a long road trip. The audio experience while traveling is pretty important to my family so getting it done, and done well was a priority. The team was also able to make time to install a new alarm system in the van, completing my wish-list before the trip. The suggested speakers and amp worked out amazing, and the added insulation in the doors was a super addition. The work done was executed extremely well. They treated my Sprinter with care and consideration ... I couldn't have chosen a better installer to put my trust in. Other than the amazing sound you'd never know they were there. I'll certainly be a repeat customer should the need arise and would encourage anyone in the market to give them serious...
