This job was 4 months ago.We ordered a cabinet unit and draw slides on a redo of our kitchen. For the issues that Leatherman was directly responsible for they were fine. However they subbed the job out (because it was not big) to Oscar Arroyo to install. The initial job was done well but I had to get my old cabinets re-leveled for counter tops to be installed. Oscar offered to do the job and and did fine which I paid him for but he had me order new cabinet skins to finish the job. Leatherman's salesman Elroy ordered these thru Miller Hutch which I also paid direct. When they came in I reached out to Oscar and at first was told he was on medical. Further pursuit a month late bared no response. I reached out to Elroy at Leatherman for guidance and also did not receive a response. Frustrated, I called Miller Hutch and larry, the owner, stepped up and came out to finished the job.

Was Leatherman responsible for this - No What could they have done - Follow Up from Email to help me navigate a solution. I did spend $4300 on cabinets with them . Was the Cabinet Sub unreliable - Yes, unless something happened I am not aware of. They got a Very Fair Dollar for what they did. What could they have done - If the job was too small they should have been up front and told me. Not leave me hanging.

My wife and I had a new home built four years ago by a well known builder. Since moving in, we struggled with three of the Anderson windows that were difficult to open and close without pushing on the sash while using the crank. Minor adjustments were made by the builder during the one year warranty period, but the problem was never completely corrected. A few months ago we had a very strong storm and two of the same windows leaked, leaving puddles of water on our living room floor. I complained to the builder again, and copied Leatherman. To make a long story short, Kevin from Leatherman called and asked if his techs could come to the house and look at the problem. The guys did a lot of measuring, and determined that poor installation was most likely the root cause. An appointment was set, and Leatherman's guys came back and removed the exterior trim and reset the windows. Before they left, they tested the open and close function, and sprayed water to confirm the windows wouldn't leak. Being an Anderson window distributor, Leatherman was not responsible for a poor installation by the builder. Regardless, they stepped up and used their expertise to correct the problem. Our experience with Leatherman Supply in remodeling our kitchen resulted in us now having a gorgeous kitchen that hardly looks like the one we lived with for 26 years! Our home is 80 years old, and the kitchen apparently had only a few cosmetic updates over those years. Furthermore, the cabinets appeared to be the ones original to the home (most likely the low-end version). We benefited from Elroy Bontrager's years of experience in helping people redesign their old kitchens. We changed two major elements--the placement of our new sink and also a new location for our refrigerator--along with buying new cabinets, countertops, and tile backsplashes. Any time that we stopped into the Leatherman office to make another choice in the process or to ask questions or ask for advice, the staff was professional and helpful. The few schedule delays we had came from a general shortage of subcontractors to do the individual plumbing, floor refinishing, electrical, and heating/cooling work required as well as from some unexpected repairs we discovered a need for in the process of remodeling.
