FruitSmart — Local services in Grandview

ZERO STARS!!! WORST PLACE TO DELIVER PRODUCT!!!

We were schedule to deliver a load yesterday September 4, 2024 @ 9PM! My driver checked in earlier than appointment time and was waiting to get a door, at 10.45PM my driver was approached by a warehouse employee and was told that FruitSmart was closing at 11pm and therefore my truck was not being unloaded until the next day. My truck was one out of 4 others that were left unloaded regardless of an appointment date and time. Called the broker, however I was unable to get any help from their end; the next day at 6AM my driver walked to the warehouse and requested to get unloaded as he was going to be late for his next pick up; after many calls from my end FruitSmart finally got him a door at 7AM just to have him sit at the door for 45 minutes without any unloading taking place. FruitSmart response is they fell behind and they needed to take care of their trucks first and then would work on us; what kind of nonsense is that!!!

Owner Operators stay away from this receiver! They do not respect schedule dates and times nor do they have any urgency to get you unloaded. What I was able to gather from other sources is that FruitSmart has three people working for their entire warehouse; two in the morning and one in the evening.

I will never, ever be back to this...

Fruitsmart is one of the worst places to pick up a load if you're a tanker. Appt times are irrelevant. If you're given an appt time in the evening, just show up in the morning because there's no one here after hours. I've waited well over 10hrs just for them to do 2hrs worth of work. The apple drivers get priority, and they will not load tankers until all the fruit drivers are done first. Don't bother complaining or making a fuss, you'll just be ignored. Ordered Product under prepay terms and tried to pay with credit card to ship the next day. Called 10 times and only get voicemails. I was told everyone is at lunch. Called back numerous times and only got excuses to why they couldn't get someone. I have a truck on the way to pick up product which they won't release until they get paid but nobody wants to take a payment. Terrible service. Think long and hard before ordering.
