While a Google review of a college feels borderline unprofessional, I feel the need to share the experiences of myself and my family members that have attended.
My mother attended this school a decade ago, and had nothing but good things to say about it. The staff inspired her, after all, and they were professionals that respected her desire to better herself. In addition, she dealt with instructors that not only treated her very well, they became friends, and remain so to this day. In other words, there's been a lot of good things. What's not to like?
My experience has been vastly different. I can corroborate the fact that there are great teachers that have helped to motivate me. That said, the Financial Aid department is so terrible that the motivation they provided was barely enough to overcome this single broken department. How is it broken? Well, they're impossible to contact, tough to deal with, and feel very uncoordinated. My average experience is exemplified with my most recent hurdle. I saw, one day, that my federal financial aid had been altered, so I called my financial aid case worker. It was Thursday evening, and I got his voicemail, so I left a message. I had not received a call a week later, so I called back. Same thing happened again. And again after that. When I was able to talk to them, I got variations on "I don't know," and "Talk to someone else." I don't blame the people working there, I blame the management and the infrastructure, because this sort of behavior is so consistent that it seems to be the doctrine.
I really want to like this school, because the teachers here are great, and many people working, especially at the Loveland campus, are wonderful, but I feel like the school itself almost doesn't want my money at times, which is not reassuring when dealing with such an expensive life choice, even at the lower community college prices. My advice is that, if you want to attend community college in the Northern Colorado area, this is probably your best bet, especially the Loveland area. That said, it's worth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAims Community College in Greeley, Colorado, is one of the top 100 community colleges in the United States, and for good reason. Its reputation for academic excellence is matched by its uniquely charming campus, featuring an array of small, eclectic buildings that create a welcoming and distinctive learning environment.
The engineering and chemistry departments are standouts, offering top-tier programs that rival those at larger institutions. During my time at Aims, I pursued a degree in pre-engineering and engineering drafting, creating detailed designs for CAD 101/102 and advanced 200-level design classes.
Equally impressive is the chemistry department, where the instructorsā passion for teaching and ability to simplify complex topics set them apart. In my class, which included about 23 pre-nursing students, the energy and dedication of the faculty were unmatched. The pre-nursing programās seamless transition into the University of Northern Colorado is a testament to the programās quality and preparation. The chemistry faculty were instrumental in helping students succeed, leaving a lasting impact with their supportive and inspiring teaching.
Aims Community College combines academic rigor, a supportive environment, and a beautiful campus, making it an outstanding choice for students pursuing their goals in engineering, nursing, or any other field. Itās a place where students can truly thrive, thanks to the dedication and expertise of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis school deserves a zero star review. The professors of the communications dept. actually would hit me on the back of the head when I attended the class. I went to security about it and they did nothing to protect me. They did not fire the teachers which made it hard for me to feel safe in the school environment.
They also have no regard for their neighbors. For example, they had a huge celebration for the tenth year anniversary of the school and shot off fireworks. A neighbor of the school who I happen to know opened their front door to see what was going on and his dog accidentally escaped from the house and ran to all the commotion. Sadly, the dog ran into the street and was hit and killed. The school never let any of their neighbors know that they were going to shoot off fireworks. This school should be shut down and the teachers should be in jail for what...
