Do not work with this company.
What a horrible experience, I’ve never worked with a company this bad before.
I paid my order in full and provided all necessary details (vector logo files, CMYK colors, hat SKU, etc.) and didn’t hear anything back for more than 3 weeks. So I had to reach out on my own to ask what was going on. The sales guy blatantly lied about where things were in the process, claiming the PVC patches were already getting created when I never received a proof.
After requesting to see the proof, I got the classic “I thought I sent this.” The proof itself ignored all the specifications from our earlier conversations and my order email. After clarifying, I continued to received subsequent proofs each with an issue, indicating that there was very little effort or quality control. At this point we were over a month out from payment, and no work had actually been done. Having had to follow up and keep asking for corrections, I would have expected quicker and better customer service, instead I was ghosted for another few business days.
So, I called into support and spoke with a GM that told me verbatim “we not only dropped the ball, we lost it entirely.” I asked for a refund and confirmation email, he said he’d take care of it, and neither a refund nor follow up email ever came (I’m over a month past that conversation at this point and still nothing).
I received a voicemail from the owner, who I called back same day and got his answering machine. I called again the next day, and then again a few days later and never got a response.
Frankly, what an absolutely embarrassing way to run a company. To this day, I still have not received any follow up email on the project, an apology, nothing. I had to move forward (well after my attempts to contact them and even waiting another week) with requesting a refund from my credit...
Read moreThis is what TopShelf considers “within spec.” Out of 60 hats I ordered, 20 were unusable — crooked embroidery, off-center designs, fraying and even one with the backing still attached.
As a small business owner, losing both the hats and embroidery costs is unacceptable. Despite detailed photos, TopShelf dismissed the issues as normal and refused to make it right.
If quality and accountability matter to you, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Update after owner response - To clarify, I posted 3 defects because I felt it unnecessary to share my entire experience, and I still do. However, I’m updating my review to reflect correctly, considering your response. I’ve now attached pictures of all the defective hats, although not including the 36 you mentioned replacing, as they were never returned to me, nor proven they were destroyed. However, you can see multiple examples of the 36 you replaced them with… they’re the ones with the fraying and looping I brought to TopShelf’s attention. All of the photos now posted were provided to TopShelf throughout my experience, and since the generous estimate of 20 of 60 defective hats wasn’t factual enough, I have 38 usable hats of 94. You’re missing a few, those were the on demand orders I placed for quality assurance (glad I did), they showed up with the off-center problem I raised with TopShelf weeks prior to the batch of 36 that were ruined with the same issue you mentioned generously replacing. By the way, those same on demand hats - I ordered them on August 14th… I ordered replacements on September 2nd… I still see them sitting in production today, September 29th. I’ll just count those as...
Read morejust want to share an experience and prevent others from bringing business to a company that treats their customers (especially repeat customers) poorly.
Please avoid going to Topshelf Custom Embroidery and Screen Printing in Greeley. This shop, especially their sales managers Mike and Zach, do not care about ensuring repeat business or providing people with quality customer service. Long story short, I requested two weeks ago for a design to be made for T-shirts on a large repeat order, and recieved a proof with just the png placed on the back. Being as this isn’t what I had asked for (I had provided some directions of the idea I had) so I requested again, for the art team to make the shirt more asthetically pleasing, only to be told this was the best they could do. Frustrated, I finally just gave up and had to design my own shirt. We picked up the order on Saturday (it was supposed to be finished on Friday) and discovered that not only were we missing all of the hats ordered as well as tank tops before a trade show, but the print is HORRENDUS unacceptable and these shirts are now useless. The fact that their print team did not check these shirts before running them is appalling. Called Mike in an panicked effort to get the missing items before I had to leave to South Dakota for the trade show, and he hung up on me mid sentence.
Save yourself the hassle, go...
