Avoid WOW at all costs (literally). This gym team is unprofessional, lacks leadership and does not believe honoring its word is important- rather they fail to call you back and hide behind a contract they mislead/lied to you about, in order to get you to sign. Now let me be clear about what has happened so you can understand why as of July 1st I will file a claim in Weld County Small Claims Court against them. When my wife and I went to meet with the WOW salesperson we specifically asked her what would happen should we be transferred with my job in anticipation of a new job. We were told very clearly by Sady that if we were transferred more than 30 miles away from WOW our contract would be canceled upon proof of this. In August I accepted an offer for a position in Aurora, and we immediately faxed over and confirmed receipt, and the next time that my wife had an opportunity she actually also dropped the same documents off. We were told everything would be taken care of. Fast forward to two weeks ago when I received a call from Professional Finance Corp attempting to collect over $500 from me for the "balance of my WOW contract plus interest." SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! I immediately called WOW and got the General Managers Voice Mail Tammy Forbes. I told her very clearly what was wrong, and asked for a call back. My wife also called the same day. We were very clearly told she was in the gym that day. We received NO CALL BACKS. I again called on June 8th at 10:43 and left another message telling her if I did not hear back from her by the end of the day that I would report to the BBB. Again, and still no CALL BACK!
(Q) What kind of a business is this you may ask? (A) One you should be very careful about doing business with! I was shocked and upset that I had not checked the BBB before signing anything with them. Their rating is "F" for (FAIL). They have had 4 complaints in the last twelve months prior to mine, all of which have not been responded to. Really, how can you run a business like this in this economy and believe it won't eventually come back around to bite you. Perhaps it is no mistake that two other gym's have recently opened in Greeley. Maybe Greeley will eventually get a gym that can compete nationally and put this joint out of business! BUYER BEWARE! I will take this to Small Claims Court just as I have said I will. She may believe that ignoring her clients is the best way to get them to 'go away' but she does not know where I stand on this! On principle alone, I will fight this until it is resolved and my false collections account resolved and a letter received from WOW is sent to me stating this.
I will update this posting to continue to share what happens from here so you can all be aware of the latest.
Again-...
Read moreI've been looking at Greeley gyms, and I have no idea how this one was voted one of the best. I came as a guest with my friend to see if I wanted to sign up a bit back.
Negatives: DIRTY. All around the ground near the walls and around the bases of the machines there was crumbs, dirt, and hair built up. The women's locker room smelled so musty. The staff didn't seem particularly interested in answering questions about the facility. My friend also let me know that the contracts are very intense and you can't get out of them once you sign. That's kind of a red flag to me: what if a patron is to get assaulted at the gym and not want to return? Or gets a severe injury that takes months to years to heal? Or moves away? (Yelp backs up what my friend said about the membership - YIKES!)
Questions: How would you handle if a patron was being stalked or got assaulted by another patron? Do you have other locations so that people could transfer their membership if they leave the Greeley area? Or ways to pause a membership while an injury heals? I would like to know how the facility handles these situations.
Positives: They appear to have multiples of most of the weight machines, and they have a walking path indoors that loops around the gym if you're not a fan of the treadmill. They are one of the few gyms in Greeley that has a wet area (through the window looked like maybe a very small pool and hot tub? Not 100% sure what I was looking at. There were signs talking about the sauna as well.)
(response)Thanks for responding so quickly, Owner. However, you didn't answer the most important question about handling issues between patrons. I also read a previous review where a patron said she was not taken seriously when she reported predatory behavior from male patrons and you said she was lying, so I am going to have to heartily...

Overall.. I give a 0 based on the approach I see from Management Its the best gym in the area. With that being said if a Gold's, 24 HR Fitness, Bally's, etc opened within 10 minutes... This place would be out of business.
Suggestions.. New Management or start taking pride in the service your providing to this community. Get on the same page as your staff and act like fitness...
