I do not recommend anybody to take there loved ones here! My boyfriend was brought here due to a seizure that he was not able to wake himself out mind you we are very aware of what to do when he seizes because this has been happening for the last 2 years. This is the first hospital that he has been to that completely neglected him and did not treat him like a patient at all. He always wakes up super agitated from his seizures as he also suffers from a previous TBI so for him to wake up confused and completely forgetful of why he is in a hospital is not uncommon. The nurses in the emergency room and the ICU were completely understanding and patient with him while I reminded every nurse that worked with him of his history and agitation that comes with every visit. He was admitted to the hospital and stayed for 2 days while he started to wake out of his episode and regain memory of the situation, He was then transferred from the ICU to the 4th floor and from then the experience was horrible. Those nurses had no patience with him even after I explained to them that he gets super agitated but that was not his personality at all . In my opinion the nurse that was assigned to him just did not want to deal with him and she was just over his attitude because he had been saying that he wanted to leave the hospital but mind you he had been saying that the 2 days that he had been there and the ICU nurses did great at just not responding to him because they were aware of his TBI and the confused state he was in. The 4th floor nurse was just having a ruff day and I think she just was over my boyfriend and his attitude so she let him sign himself out when he was not in the right state of mind to do so. I then proceeded to try to beg and cry to the charge nurse that they could not let him leave like that and she just brushed me off and said it was his decision and they signed off that he was okay to leave. since that situation he has been admitted to a NEW hospital with great nurses that actually do there jobs and he is back to his normal self and guess what he has no memory of signing himself out of the hospital !! So I hope that nurse looses her job for being uncaring and a awful person and she should not be working in health care he was not in the right state of mind in that situation and damn you and the hospital for thinking that was okay. He left with multiple injuries and he pulled out his own IV'S but they did not take in consideration at all that he was harming himself his safety was not important to this hospital at all. Please do not bring you loved ones here because if they even have a slight attitude they will be neglected and there health will not be taken care of it might just put them at a...
Read moreIf I could do 0 stars I would! Worst experience ever. We have been here multiple times but this last time was one of the most messed up things to happen to us. My husband came in and was immediately put on sepsis alert and admitted. So we thought okay cool, one doctor came in and listened to his lungs and wasn’t sure why the wbc would be so high for beginning stages of pneumonia, then his shift ended. We were taken upstairs and was offered Tylenol for pain but no one even remembered we were here. We then spent hours waiting for the next step which was okay, but then a doctor came in here and said it was pneumonia and she didn’t agree with the night doctor. Which was super rude when she said “her and that doctor don’t agree” so then we looked at her confused because we were put on sepsis alert so we just wanted an answer what was going on. She ordered a CT scan, the CT scan results got sent to our phone with information back and she never came back after the test or even explained the results. That was around 10-12. It’s 8:30 the next day and no doctor has still came in! She just left without any orders for antibiotics, treatment plan or anything. Instead we sat here all day sitting here for ACTUALLY nothing! We waited till night for a shift change for a doctor to come in just to be told there were no doctors! I then demanded to talk to a supervisor and finally the nurse tried to find a doctor but the best he could do was message us over her computer. We were forgotten about, every single nurse, na, we’re on different pages. One nurse said the test for pneumonia was negative and shortly after a lady comes gowned up for pneumonia? Like I said it’s 8:30 the next day and no doctor told us anything! We sat here and wasted our time, just to be told nothing; the nurse tried to read the notes but they confused her just as much as us what was going on! We then tried to tell them he was tested positive for Chagas’ disease which is a blood infection that can cause sepsis! And the nurse told us we were in the wrong place for that?! Told us they would never do anything like that here! Then came back and said oh yeah they are testing you for it. No one told us anything! We were neglected , doctor muerter or whatever just came in here talked about how she was right more than the other doctor and never came back or even said she was leaving 7 hours later after she did nothing! I cannot describe how much miscommunication, and neglected we feel. We are still here demanding to see a doctor so we can go 24...
Read moreI recently had 4 TIAs (possibil mini strokes) and went to the UChealth in Fort Collins. They got me evaluated immediately. It's was a very busy night for them, and despite the volume, everything moved very quickly. After being checked out they recommended I needed to be evaluated overnight for my safety so i was admitted. I was released the next day with medication and instructions to return to the ER if I had another TIA. Keep in mind that this was a terrifying experience but the doctors and staff did an amazing job of addressing my fears and concerns. Cut to today... I am in Greeley at family's and start to present with another TIA. My mother drives me to the ER at UChealth Greeley. We get past security and I register and let them know i am having mini stroke symptoms. The person at registration tells me to wait in the waiting area and we sit there waiting for 30 minutes with no one coming to get me, check me or evaluate the seriousness of my condition. The thing about mini strokes is they can be precursors to a stroke. The symptoms can pass but that doesn't mean you are out of the woods. After 30 minutes of realizing that I was not going to get assistance and that I would probably be helped faster if I just called 911 or went to a different ER, I let the registration person know we were leaving since it was taking too long. She responded with, "Ok". No explanation for the wait, nothing about it not be safe for me to leave. The caring level was at a one. I understand they may have been busy but this experience was completely the opposite of what happened to me previously and really made feel like if I had actually been evaluated would I be in good hands? Compassion burnout is real but if you are chosing a career in this field Compassion is essential and if you are experiencing the burnout seek mental health care assistance. My interactions with you was less then 15 seconds and you could only muster an "ok" to someone presenting with stroke like symptoms and is leaving due to lack of assistance... This left a terrible impression on me since I have always valued the professionalism of my other experiences...
