EDIT: I'm writing this about 2 weeks after the first review. According to the health department guidelines hands should be thoroughly washed before putting on gloves when handling ready to eat foods. Using dirty hands to get gloves out of the box then putting them on and using them is just gross and how cross contamination gets people sick. Poor sanitation practices are why the tissue needs to be used to handle the doughnuts. This morning I saw the girl walk over to the case, reach in the box for gloves, put them on, and got doughnuts for the customer. No hand washing at all. No tissue was used. Who ever went over food safety and the proper use of gloves doesn't know what they're doing. And since the same people work both the bakery and meat department is there cross contamination going on in the meat department as well 🤔 Also, I would love to call in and talk to the manager but in a town this size I would just be considered a trouble maker.
I went in for some doughnuts last week and the more I think about it the more I feel as though I need to let people know. The lady who got them for me was printing off labels when I got there and she was wearing gloves. So the gloves she was wearing had most likely packaged the cookies she was printing labels for, she used those same gloves to push the buttons necessary to print the labels, she then proceeded to open the door on the doughnut case, got out my doughnuts, used the dirty calculator to add up my total, used the dirty maker to write the total on the bag and then most likely went back to packaging cookies or whatever with the same gloved hands.... DIRTY gloved hands. And yes, when I thought about it she absolutely did not use the tissue. Needles to say I did not eat my doughnuts. You need to go over the rules for preventing cross contamination with your employees before they get...
Read moreGreat friendly service and small town atmosphere. I'm a new resident in town and like to support local businesses and growers, etc. They have a pretty wide selection of things, BUT unfortunately TOO EXPENSIVE. I can get a lot of this stuff at the nearby "dollar stores" for 25-35% less (sometimes more on other stuff). I have years of retail management experience and did the numbers and despite paying gas to go to Wooster Walmart or Millersburg Walmart, I still save more money travelling than getting all of my groceries here. Stakes, you've got some competition and should consider being more fair and considerate with your prices. These are hard times and my family is on a strict budget. This is the only reason I'm knocking off 2 stars ☹....and won't be back...sorry.UPDATE Just did my major grocery shopping at Walmart and just with the price difference of 3 items (1 jelly, 1 Doritos and 1 raw honey) of $6 savings paid for the gas round trip. Imagine for the total bill of $124 that I spent today how...
