I will admit I was unable to communicate fully with the owners prior to our visit. We had one more person than i had planned and failed to tell them. That's on me as I was too busy to study the website or give a lot of details in my email. However, this is no excuse for how we were treated.
We paid cash, on arrival for our stay which was a huge mistake, we were also asked to pay an additional $40 per extra person to cover "food cost" that we did not use. We were in town to run an ultra marathon and had all brought our own food for pre-race breakfast.
Be careful..the front door does not close easily and will reopen if you don't really pay attention and if the owner sees the door open she will yell at you and threaten to turn off the air-conditioner.
Also, there was a strange odor in the stairwell that reminded us of urine. Not sure what that was about.
The upstairs rooms do not cool properly and we were stuffy all night on top of being threatened with no air conditioning.
Again, I take responsibility for the miscommunication pre-check in, however that was no reason to be lectured about food cost and yelled at for leaving a door open for a minute while we unloaded our car...
I recommend staying at one of the many resorts in the area if traveling to...
Read moreIt's hard to put into words the kindness, friendliness, and hospitality that I was shown while I was here for 3 nights in early March. It was my first real experience at a Bed & Breakfast, so I wasn't fully prepared on what to expect. First the owners, Dave and Tonya, were just beyond the nicest and most friendly people I have ever had the pleasure to meet and spend time with on my travels, business or pleasure. They made sure my every minute there was perfect for me. The breakfast that they prepared fresh each morning was SO much better than going to any restaurant or hotel! I wish in all of my travels, I had host half as nice and friendly as these. The house its-self was just over the top in history. EVERY inch of the house was themed and decorated as if you were in 1856, the year it was built! Every room is just as picturesque as the next and will leave you in awe as you walk around looking at the house. If you want real charm, a cozy place to sleep, a quite place to rest and relax, you must look up this B&B and stay here! I will be...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Our spacious room was on the second floor with 2 twin beds and quite comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was good in our private bathroom. We loved the detailed decor of this old Victorian house. Floors and stairs creaked a bit but this added to the charm. We had access to the entire house including living room, dining room, other bathrooms and the game room in the basement. Lovely sitting areas outside and in the yard. Walls are a bit thin but this is an old house. Our hosts were friendly and helpful as we learned about the home's history over our home-cooked breakfasts. We helped ourselves to the shelves filled with books to read and take. The walls were filled with collected momentos and history about this family-owned business. They even had t-shirts for sale made by a family cousin. Would definitely stay here again when in this...
