It is a nice benefit that if you spend $30 or more employees will shop for you and load your order in your car upon your arrival.
BUYER BEWARE, however, eiither add a Note to EVERY item asking your shopper to check the Best Buy or Expiration Date (particularly bakery and frozen goods) OR do not leave the Fareway parking lot until you have checked EVERY Expiration Date on your groceries to ensure it is BEFORE the product's best buy or expiration date. I have received products that expired days, weeks, or even MONTHS before the date I picked up my food.
Yeah, you might get your money back for the rotten food, but I have NEVER received an APOLOGY from this store, despite this occurring repeatedly WEEK AFTER WEEK in a row! they act as though a refund "makes it okay" although you wanted the product YOU ORDERED you merely wanted it fresh (how nice that they pay you back for outdated inedible food)? Consider this when feeding food from this store to your family members...
The Greenfield Fareway also has an odd "overview" with more than a dozen "employees" who only appear to sit up there and talk about gossip about customers, they NEVER pitch in when customers are waiting in long lines. It is as if actually working is beneath them.
A few months ago I bought a pound cake and tried a piece and immediately knew something was off, it was stale, dry, and had a foul taste. I checked the date on the container and found it expired more than TWO MONTHS before the date I bought it.
When I complained, the next time I picked up food a manager came out to my car to inform me that it "isn't their job to check expiration dates" What?!! Talk about passing the buck - if they are shopping for someone, why wouldn't they glance at the product to ensure their customers are receiving fresh products? If they make someone ill by selling a customer rotten food and that customer sues the store, I think that checking best buy and expiration dates will VERY RAPIDLY become "part of the job" for the people who you are trusting to supply the food you feed to your children.
Don't make excuses, step up your game and do your job, AND APOLOGIZE and IMPROVE when you don't....
Read moreI brought my girlfriend to this Fareway and the experience was honestly disturbing. The grocery and meat managers sit up in an office that overlooks the entire store — everyone can see them, and they can see everyone. The moment we walked up to the meat counter, both managers were blatantly staring at my girlfriend. It wasn’t subtle, and it wasn’t just a glance — it was uncomfortable and weird. She’s mentioned before that she feels watched every time we shop here, and now I see exactly why.
To make things worse, there were six customers backed up in line at the registers, and only two cashiers working. Meanwhile, at least four employees — including the managers — were just sitting up in the office doing absolutely nothing. Instead of stepping in to help during a rush, they chose to sit there and stare. Completely unprofessional and...
