I received your letter concerning my recent visit to receive food and it is very alarming to me. I told her what county I lived in and my name because I am registered to receive food which is under my ex-husband's name for some odd reason. The reason I am in your database is because I work there as a volunteer and have for years. I come there for food to either reward myself for ALL my work in the Kingdom of God or serve others as a tool for an opportunity to share the gospel for salvation. I told her I lived in Shelby County. If you didn't serve me because of my county, then why am I registered in your data base? I really appreciate the food that was given to me and all the hard work everyone does for the community through this service. It seems that there is no end to the calamity among these followers that continue to add laws that keep people from being rewarded, whether it be through policy or rules. Consider the hard work we endure for the Kingdom rather than considering it a crime when we take it upon ourselves to reward once and awhile, even when we give to others our time without pay. I have worked in the Kingdom of God for almost 19 years without pay, I think a reward of food since I volunteer there would be sufficient for my time. Let us go back to the beginning to the Hour When we first believed and put people/workers over policy and reward our own when we labor in the fields as laborers for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God...
Read moreStopped by this evening for the first time. We definitely needed assistance after just relocating. We received fruits, vegetables, meat, cereal etc. Could pick up a couple other hygiene type essentials. I chose vitamins & hair dye. It was ironic bc I was just talking about how I haven't dyed my hair in soooo long bc I just couldn't afford it bc it wasn't a necessity. Things like that really made such an impact bc I just started a new job & now I feel 5 years younger going in tomorrow. It is greatly appreciated, everyone was very kind that we spoke to. Its great that this community can pull together to volunteer their time. Where I used to live we could barely get any assistance!! I mentioned we just came from FL. They even handed an Easter basket for our son!! Thank you so much. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. I will also like to add some insight maybe it could help a bit. Maybe better signs showing where to drive to, update website to make it more clear, just appeared vague about income guidelines etc...I wasn't sure if I should had printed off form off your website or not to bring with me so I tried to call, but noone monitors the phone just a recording. And maybe have clipboards ready to grab or passed out sooner so you have time to fill out before someone walks around getting them. I felt bad bc gal kept walking out and the few cars were still filling them out. Just simple things I feel could make system run a lot...
Read moreWell this is never happened before but I went to the food pantry at 7 tonight and sat there with a couple other cars and waited and called a friend of mine that knows a lot of people and ask her what was going on because nobody was there there was no sign saying they were closed I called the phone number and it never said anything about being closed today that my friend found out because due to the weather it was closed today cuz we're supposed to have a bad storm. I understand that what I don't understand is why there was no way anybody could know that it was closed there was no sign anywhere there was no message anywhere. I think in the future maybe they should put a a sign outside saying they're closed for that day or something on their phone a message there people know what's going on. Other than that I'm always pleased when I come up there to get stuff to eat because they give a lot of stuff and it's good stuff it's not junk and I really really appreciate it it helps out. And I thank you all for that I really do I just thought I'd let you know about this issue maybe if you're not going to be open you should figure out a way to let the public know that that's...
