They actually deserve a "no star" rating. My daughter in law sent me a pic of a bull terrier that was available for adoption (i have wanted one for a long time but i didnt want to purchase one bc there are so many dogs at the shelter that need homes). I was sooo freakin excited so i called and asked about her. I was told noone has contacted them about her so they put me 1st on the list to adopt but they said she had a few issues they were treating her for first. I called later in the week (a thursday) to check on her to see how her treatment was going and they said she was still having issues but they would reevaluate her the following tuesday. I asked the question if they knew if she was good with other dogs bc i have 2 other dogs at home. The person at the shelter put me on hold to go check with someone regarding my question and about 30 seconds later someone picked up the phone and then hung up on me. I called back numerous times that day but noone would pick up i continued calling and then on sunday when i still couldnt get ahold of anyone i called my daughter in law to have her to try to contact them when her call was answered on the first try (they were freakin screening my calls bc they didnt want to tell me this and figured i would eventually quit calling i guess!!!!). My daughter in law said they told her that dog was being transferred to a rescue and the rescue was going to continue her treatments. I borrowed my husbands phone and called them right back (and they answered on the 1st time!) and was told the same that the resue was going to continue treatment..i said i was supposed to be first on the list to adopt and wasnt even given the chance to continue her treatment??? she said she never officially came up for adoption (but her pic was out there on the website is how we found out) which you would think they could have atleast called me (or atleast answered my phone call) to tell me that. Not to mention the adoption fee would be going from like $50 from the animal shelter to prob about $400 with the rescue group..along with the OVER THE TOP RULES & REGULATIONS THAT THESE RESCUE GROUPS MAKE YOU JUMP THROUGH HOOPS TO GET A DOG..the entire way this was handled was inappropriate, poor business practice and not for the best interest for that dog. Now that dog has been transferred to a foster home for no telling how long then will eventually go to a forever home but could have been totally avoided had they let me adopt her in the 1st place. Definitely would not recommend using...
Read moreHORRIBLE!!!! The most incompetent heartless staff.... And you can add thieves to the long list of things wrong with this place.... My dog was on rabies observation and had to stay for 5 days... I was told I could pick him up on Monday for a cost of $160... I called and checked on him while he was there and was told I could not visit him but he was doing well... Now my dog is not a stray or shelter dog he is a huge part of the family... He goes to work with me and is very well taken care of. When I got there Monday they instructed me to go to the back where they keep the dogs that are on observation ... As I walked in the door the stench was so bad it literally took my breath away... There were small dogs in cages dirty with matted fur looking miserable... They took me to where my dog was being kept which was an outside kennel with a cot like bed and nothing else... The stench continued to get stronger... When Fernando saw me his eyes lighted up and he got super excited. I was then told I would have to pay and then come back to pick him up... The employees told me when I got into the nasty stinky office that I could not pick him up until Tuesday... I said to the office worker and the actual animal control officer that actually took him that that could not be correct because officer Furr as well as the front office said I could get him Monday and then stated that it was not right to let him see me then not give him to me... Officer Furr then said that I at least gave him hope... This was not acceptable I then said that I wanted to speak with someone in charge so I had to go back in the front and waited over 30 min to speak with the director who reviewed the paperwork and told me that I was correct and could get him that day.. I went to pay and the amount had changed to $180 At this point I had been there.for.an hour and was disgusted so I just paid it.and went back to pick Fernando up.... They took me back to where he was and I then noticed that his $20 NFL collar was missing... I was told.they did not know what happened to it The director was called back down and could not explain what happened to it. I asked him why my dog was treated so poorly and he could not come up with a reason why.... So I have spent $200 to bail my dog out of a hell that no animal should have to endure... This place is discussing with deplorable conditions and is staffed by uncaring heartless people who should not be allowed to care for poor...
Read moreBeautiful animals, but was very disappointed with my experience today.
My sister two kittens were dropped off this morning for both their surgeries at 8:30 AM. We were told they would be ready to go and picked up between 4-5 PM.
Just before I arrived for pick up around 4:20, no one was answering the telephone. Multiple calls were made, and no answer. When I was making my way in, all doors were completely locked. I had to be let in by security, she was very sweet, and was told to walk to the check in area. Patiently waited and waited. As a whole 20 minutes go by that i’ve been STANDING WAITING, I wasn’t acknowledged by anyone. No one seemed to care or have any sense of urgency for everyone waiting. You should be ready to help the next waiting client/patient/customer whatever. Especially if your establishment closes at 5 o’clock. The older lady with curly hair at the counter was free to help, yet clearly did not want to. She was calling someones pet name (“banks”) who wasn’t even in the building, and proceeded going outside the building to find the individual. When she could’ve helped another person that had been waiting ??? She asked if I was banks, I responded “no, i’m here for pick up”. Got a simple “okay” and no further follow up. After she finished up with “banks” owner, It got to the point I was fed up and wasn’t tolerating what was clearly going on. I had to stand in-front of her station to get spoken to. Gave her my sister kittens name, I wasn’t sure their exact shelter names because at home they no longer go by them, but she was able to find their file. She told me to have a seat and wait for the vet to finish up paperwork I believe. Hearing that I knew I would be here all day. The kittens were dropped off at 8:30 am.. why aren’t they all ready to go for their assigned pick up? It’s now 4:45 pm. I asked her how long would that be, she responded “about 30 minutes”. Completely unacceptable. You mean to tell me after waiting 20 minutes, I would need to wait another 30? Past closing time? Yeah, I am not on the employee’s time. So I decided they would be picked up tomorrow. I couldn’t give her a specific time because again, they were supposed to be ready at their pick up time and my schedule was altered for just that. I do not live any where near this shelter. So for them to waste my time, a dime will not be given. It’s ridiculous everywhere you go the...
