Things happen - it's what you do when things happen that count. I've had good experiences at Havertys, I've had a great sales rep, but the customer service when there is a problem is why I will never buy from Havertys again.
I ordered some furniture Feb 10 and an additional set Feb 20. I was told I could expect it towards the end of March, but when I hadn't heard anything I called to see what was going on. They hadn't called to arrange delivery but it was ready to be scheduled.
Fast forward to April 6th and my delivery window is 9am to 11am, they called and said it would be between 12 and 2 instead. I chatted with a customer service person to get an ETA around 1245, I was told they would be there at 110. They arrived a little after 2.
First piece of furniture in the house, damaged. Huge gash in it. 2nd piece they show me a chip "that can be glued back on." There were more scratches that I found so I refused it. I wound up refusing almost the entire order because of damage and out of nearly $10,000 in furniture kept a single piece to a sectional, a chair, a mirror, a coffee table, and an end table. Every piece of the bedroom set was damaged.
Things happen, right? Their resolution - they can go ahead and bring out the things in stock but not for 3 weeks because "that's the first day they have availability on a truck that comes to my area." You screwed up, you are at fault, you send someone out of route or make a special trip.
The rest of the furniture is on backorder and should be to the warehouse May 1st at which time they'll schedule it seemingly when they have availability on a route coming to my area. At their convenience. Another damaged piece won't be in until the end of May.
So if everything is perfect, Havertys is great. Furniture is quality, the people in the store seem to be great, but if there is a problem don't expect any sort of quality customer service. You're at...
Read moreWe purchased a complete bedroom set in October 2020 and was told that if we waited until December 9th that all the pieces would be delivered at the same time. They explained to us that because of COVID-19 shipments was running behind and we understood. We decided to go by the store and check on our delivery the Saturday before it was scheduled to come out, and this is when we was informed that our dresser would not be coming with the Wednesday delivery on the 9th. We call corporate office and told them that no one had called or made contact with us and had we not stopped by the store we would never had known. I should have canceled and got a refund then, but decided to wait until February for the dresser. On Tuesday December 8th the day before our delivery we received a call from customer service that the mattress would not be coming with the delivery on Wednesday December 9th. We have been waiting since October two months and sold our old bedroom set only for them to tell us now the mattress want be coming. Now we have to wait another 7 days before they can get it delivered to us. I explained to them that we just sold our other set and have no where to sleep and you call the day before to tell us no mattress will be coming with this shipment. We spent over 13 thousands dollars at this store. I will never shop at Havertys again, and I will make it my business to let everyone know how unprofessional this hold ordeal has...
Read moreWe were greeted by Justin upon arrival. He patiently worked with us and made viable recommendations for furniture options. I can tell you that this was the longest time I have ever spent in a furniture store. Justine was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He double checked on items that were questionable. He was a wealth of knowledge and made the experience comfortable. I originally just wanted to see three bedroom collections that I had first researched online, but in working with Justin I was excited to look for other furnishings for the major spaces for my new home. Typically, I am hesitant to work with salespeople in a furniture store, because I feel they are intrusive. Working with Justin was completely the opposite. He made me feel so comfortable that I felt like I was talking to a friend. I fully appreciated his "no pressure" approach. The "cherry on top" was when he offered to create a working "wish list" of all the items I was considering and informing me of Havertys' design services. This would give me a visual list to consider and follow-up without forgetting anything. I am definitely sold on Havertys after this experience. I also met the store manager, (I believe his name was Dylan) on my way out, who was already having a great conversation with my sister. He was a charming and personable man, with whom I shared my awesome experience with Justin. He thanked me...
