UPDATE: I am happy to report that the owner of Malone Lumber as well as the rep for the lumber supply company have met and agreed to address the issue. This is the kind of service you want from a local business. A successful company is not one that never stumbles but one that recovers promptly when they do. I appreciate their professionalism and my confidence is restored.
I recently spent a very large sum of money with them to purchase lumber for a deck and fence project. I waited almost 12 weeks for lumber that was to have been pressure treated and kiln-dried, particularly sold for such projects. I paid more per board than I would have at large-box retail but felt it was important to shop local. Less than a year later, the boards were twisted and splitting. I called them and they said they would come, bring the lumber rep and inspect. They came, no lumber rep, no professional inspection. They did not follow-up. Prices are a little higher than big chain stores but it is a small town type convenience store. The price you pay for convenience vs driving 30+ min for slightly lower prices. That the business norm. Every business does it not just malones. $1.75 for a 20oz cola vs $1.00 two litres at walmart. 4stars because of prices otherwise...
