Dale was a pleasure to talk with and got me all setup for my stove repair. Cliff was on time for the service call, texted me before arriving. He was very nice and analyzed the oven failure. I'd replaced the heating element a few days earlier. The old one had apparently shorted out through the insulation to ground and literally arced and blew a hole in the lower oven pan, 1/2 inch x 2 inch long. I had tack welded a piece of steel to close up the hole. The new element in, hole sealed up, the oven would not heat up enough, after 45 minutes, set point of 350 degrees, would only reach 290 degrees. Cliff analyzed that the power board had been damaged. He gave me a price for the new board and the installation, which I saw as good ( I had the power board up on my computer, with its price and asked him if this was what he was going to replace and he confirmed). He said he would order, would take a few days for them to receive and they would call to come in and finalize the repair. Dale called last Friday that the board was in, setup for Monday (today). Cliff came in and got old board out, new board in, in less than an hour. He set the oven to bake at 350 and the oven hit temp in less than 15 minutes like it should. He was a fine young man that knew what he was doing. My wife just made a crab casserole in the oven and it twas delicious!
Little thing that you might not find important but I noticed. Last week and today....Cliff set the clock to the right time before he left. Little details that are minor but set the company at a level of service that makes for happy customers.
I couldn't be happier with The Olde Homestead appliance repair company. You should all be proud. I love to see American companies succeeding and you...
Read moreWe had a problem with our gas range where the regulator wasnât working. Greenville Appliance recommended Jesse at The Olde Homestead. He said âJesseâs been doing this since he was a kid and his company knows what they are doingâ. Sure enough, when he arrived, he tested a few things and realized exactly what the issue was, ordered the parts and will be ready next week for repairs.
In the meantime, while he was here I asked him to look at my microwave turntable (which isnât working). Whirlpool techs came out and fixed it twice already then it broke again and they said I needed to just buy another microwave and that I was cooking too high on the stove (mircrowave directly above stove) and have to keep fan on when cooking! (I try to but donât always remember and why is that my problem??). I havenât had time to go buy one so I asked him to take a look. He opened it up and found that Whirlpool techs didnât connect a relay properly on their last visit and the wires got fried. He spliced them and re-routed them away from the direct heat of the stove and (10 minutes) the microwave works perfect.
Well...I was so impressed so far, I told him our dishwasher soap dispenser spring was broken and wouldnât work (same issue, other techs said part had to be ordered). Jessee got out a tool, fixed the spring and it works!
Total charge for today (inspection of stove, microwave and dishwasher repair.....$85!!). Stove repair later will be $275 (but that includes the regulator and his time to install, test, etc.).
Overall very fair business practice and knowledgable honest service (all you really ask for!!).
Well done! ...
Read moreMy 7 year old Whirlpool front loader washing machine "died" mid-cycle one day and, knowing nothing about appliances, I was in a panic to have it resolved ASAP. The load was locked inside the machine, soaking in water. I called a few appliance repair companies and I felt that some of the maintenance call fees were too high and others just couldn't fit me in for a few days. The folks at The Olde Homestead won me over with the following: 1) Lowest Price for the technician to come in and look at the appliance to determine the problem 2) Immediate response - they were able to fit me in to their schedule that same day and they called me about 5 minutes before they arrived 3) Excellent customer service - thanks, Ken!
The technicians that came in to diagnose the problem and then fix my washer were polite, personable and extremely helpful. They offered me different options as to where they could order the required part to repair the machine, which ultimately saved me money! They were honest and knowledgable and I never felt for one moment that they were ripping me off or taking advantage of the fact that I know nothing about appliance problems. Once the part that I ordered came in, Ken at the office was very quick to get me scheduled in and even offered a same day appointment due to a cancellation.
From my first experience with a faulty major appliance, The Olde Homestead gained my complete trust - I would absolutely refer them to anyone requiring assistance, and would definitely go back to them if I needed another repair or maintenance work! ...
