Ben Becnel's - The Farm — Local services in Gretna

I enjoy farmer's markets in general, and I love Becnel's Produce. Tomatoes and bell peppers are delicious. I usually stock up on cucumbers, squash, and strawberries when they're in season. I also bought a cantaloupe and a seedless watermelon today. I haven't tasted them yet, but I expect to enjoy them, given past experiences. They're a little out of the way for me, and the location makes it a little difficult to return home the way I came. I also wish they had more fruits and vegetables from which to choose. Parking is just a few steps from the produce. I enjoy browsing their canned and prepackaged products, too. I've bought (and enjoyed) pickles and various packages of nuts. I look forward to my weekly trips...

Someone really needs to teach these kids working there, some manners. Other people complained about them in their reviews so I know that they are rude. I walked in there and the young brat told me “You HAVE to wear a mask” l told her that I have a medical condition and I can’t wear one, then I asked if it was ok and she turned to another guy and they both remained silent and rolled their eyes.I walked out and went back in to tell them that they’ve lost our business and the boy was no longer wearing his mask. Will never go back to any of their stores. It’s a shame not just only the way she said HAVE TO instead of asking politely... but because me and my family have been buying from Becnels for...

Lovely stand right before the belle chasse tunnel with the best, crack-like addicting seasonal tomatoes, cabbage and other assortments of veggies. I've used the honey to brew meads and the spicy jams for healthy cream cheese dips...I get my eggs here as well every weekend and have had the most pleasant interactions with the staff. I respect that they still take care with distance and sanitation even after the pandemic and can't imagine the patience and training they must have to endure some people who feel otherwise.
