Dollar General — Local services in Grottoes

Prior to their recent renovation, Dollar General was my go-to store for just about everything. Whether milk, soda, holiday decorations, toilet paper, party supplies, or a new outfit, I would pop into Dollar General and grab just about anything I needed.

After their renovation, I’ve decided not to bother unless absolutely necessary. First, the cash registers are the worst things to navigate. I always end up in someone’s way trying to leave the store. Maybe it’s just me. There is no longer a clothing section and minimal pharmaceuticals. The emphasis appears to be on cheap home decor. The middle sections are devoted to metal buckets and artificial succulents.

I’m sure I would get over how hard it is to locate items and employees who didn’t stock the store & have no idea either. I’m sure I would; I just don’t want to bother since my previous major...

I went to buy 2 glass bottles at dollar general today and did not notice the bottles did not have labels on it. Becky the cashier said “ I can’t sell you this” because it did not have labels …. I tell my husband to go check another bottle with the label but all he found was the “sticker to the bottle” she say I still can’t sell you this (with an attitude) I tell her to go check the shelf for the label she proceeds to say I don’t even know where they are at. She walks mid way and I told here forget it. I told her “her attitude was not the best from the beginning she could have been more helpful” All she said was “Whatever Whatever’”

Like really you can’t ask the customer “hey show me where you found it” the worst attitude . Not the best...

The worst of the worst. The employees are very rude and always complaining. The store is always very messy. I stopped going to the Dollar General in Grottoes and started going to Family dollar. Not to mention one of the registers are always broken. The regular register has a sign on it saying to use the “self check out register”. A man went to use the self checkout and something went wrong. The employee working said rudely that it wasn’t a self check out anymore… what? That makes no sense. I really cannot believe this store is...
