Do a diamond engagement ring in to be cleaned ONLY , had no other concerns . My sister and I browsed the store . The staff was helpful , polite . But after 45 minutes was becoming to wonder why cleaning not done and was becoming impatient. Couldn’t hear comments to staff I asked to inquired about but yelled response was definitely louder than needed to be . So I just asked for ring back and to forget it . Approximately another 10 minutes received my ring back . Looked very clean , diamonds sparkled . Put back in case and paid and left . Because of fingers swelling I didn’t were it often at all but few weeks later when tried to put on noticed one of the prongs bent and would snagged on things . Didn’t have this problem before . After closer inspection the stone was also “crooked” . Haven’t had checked elsewhere or worn the ring but amount of time ring wasn’t in my view when told approximate time would be 10 minutes turned to 50 minutes , what was he doing to my ring other than cleaning and so rude to clerk just trying to find out how much longer . Planted seed of doubt and mistrust and haven’t been back for purchase in store or to have my other expensive jewelry cleaned or repaired . But my sister who had moved back here from SC took a VERY expensive diamond ring for 1 prong repair . Had ring 3 days , lousy ugly job , said stone was “cracked” so he said , the so-called repair was too high but worse part was less than 2 weeks prong severely bent.again , she wore her rings pretty much daily as most women do . when she took it to another jeweler he refused to do anything to ring which raised some concerns so trying to find an sincere honest jeweler that can tell her truth without believing she would think he was responsible for state her ring in now and hold him liable where other than where purchased at in SC no one but RockY’s had touch the ring . Too late now and don’t know exactly what was done in 3 days ring was there but will never leave jewelry of expensive quality there or less expensive either . Too much doubt and mistrust in what may have incurred. Was VERY beautiful and rugged diamond set with large secured stone(1slightly bent prong, hence visit to store) til left Rocky’s . Never again for neither of us so just be cautious everyone...
Read moreMy family has bought jewelry here for decades, but our experiences the last 6 months have been poor. The younger girls working are so unfriendly and need training in customer service or a position in which they do not deal with the public (with the exception of Angie, Lindsey, and another lady). They act as if they can't be bothered. We go in every few months to browse and get an idea of what we want to buy for holidays, birthdays, special occasions for ourselves and nieces/granddaughters, etc and they seem irritated to help us. Yesterday I was prepared to buy a ring and a bracelet (as well as choose a pair of earrings and ring for Christmas gifts to be bought in the next three weeks) and when I asked to look at something one of the girls asked me if I was going to "actually buy something or not this time". Another time I asked her to write down an item number so I could give the Christmas gift idea to my husband so he could easily come in to purchase before Christmas and she said, "can't you just take a picture". The nature of retail (especially an expensive jewelry store) is that people will browse and visit several times to decide what they want to buy for their loved ones or themselves before they make a large purchase and to see what new inventory has arrived. I ended up leaving and making no purchases. At this point, unless friendlier staff is hired, I would prefer to find a different jewelry store or buy on-line. It is not worth the...
Read moreWent in to see about a nice pair of earrings and to get some rings repaired a couple weeks before Valentine’s Day. Started off inquiring on the repairs that I wanted done. Size up a ring 1/4 size, reset a stone, and then if needed reshank part of the band. The customer service I received on this was awful. The two ladies that looked at the rings initially insisted I have my fiancé come in for sizing however that was not needed as I knew what size they needed to be already and assured them that all it needed was to go up 1/4 of a size which said would run $50 by itself for 18kt gold. The jeweler that finally came out and looked at them asked if I had purchased them there. I advised them no I had not as this was my first time dealing here and the jeweler refused to do any of the work because of it. I still looked at earrings and found a nice pair but ultimately passed on purchasing simply because of the prior service I received. Rocky was highly recommended to me by someone that has been to many auctions with him and I was displeased with the experience I had in this store especially as a brand new customer. I understand that he cannot control every situation but first impressions are very important and that should be represented by his staff as...
