I came in for back pain. It was so incredibly hurtful. I could not even stand up. They gather some information I did not even take my vitals checked. They put me back in the waiting room knowing I was in excruciating pain. Two hours I waited. They finally find a room for me The nurse direct me to the bed does not even give me a call button or a sheet to cover me. Iāve literally had to stand up go to the cabinet and find a cover for me in there caninet. And didint give me any instructions for anything, just leaves. I then ask for something to relieve the pain until someone sees me. I waited another 45 minutes for any pain medicine. Then they rolled me in for an ultrasound they were flopping around like flounder and a cold bed when taking the ultrasound I was falling off the bed. The person doing the ultrasound did not even try to make me comfortable I kid you not from the knee down my legs were hanging over. All she kept saying was Iām going as fast as I can instead of trying to make me comfortable. I finally go back to my room after another two hours. The PA comes in and tells me their findings and prescribes medication. Part of the prescriptions was a pain patch. After discharge from the hospital I go to my pharmacy it out of the three prescriptions the what I needed the most was the pain patch. That item never was completed because they have to call it into the insurance. And according to the hospital they donāt call in medication for approval. But I didnāt know this until I got to the pharmacy. I have to say I was so disappointed with all the money they get paid and of course Iām going to get a car payment bill you think they would treat me Humility as possible. I came from nursing school back in the 80s and none of this wouldāve ever happened in fact at the bedside manner was always top-notch and the patients always treated with respect. This is my third time back at their emergency care unit and not one time have I ever been treated like a human. And I have to say I felt very hot. They did not even take my temperature when I got home my temperature was 101. I read a few of the reviews reading his emergency care unit four stars they had to of been made up. Because that is never happened to many times Iāve had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. I am 22 years old and blacked out after extreme chest pain while driving. Woke up to enough to pull over before it began again feeling no part of my body; and ended up in the goose lane ER since it was the closest. Though I will say the receptionist was amazing and comforting, as well as the one who got me into the building. I constantly track my heart rate and had no idea that 130-160 was above what it should be. When my heart rate spiked to 201 the lady that checked on me (who I believe was the physicians assistant) told me it was anxiety and when the benzo they gave me did nothing to decrease my heart rate, she stopped monitoring it all together for four hours. Nobody entered the room in that whole time after I had just blacked out while driving. So after arriving at 6:30 am and being ignored after initial tests she comes in the room at around noon to tell me to just manage my anxiety and leave. She told me that a resting rate of 130-160 is normal for some people and to switch primary care doctors. I was horrified of blacking out while driving again and she told me that I would be fine and to follow up with a new doctor since she blamed my current doctor for my heart rate (that I showed her has been like that for years) and then told me I need to leave. Had to have family pick up my car and then drive me to somewhere that wouldnāt ignore my event. Was very disappointed that somebody who ignored me for four hours came in to tell me ājust by looking at you I can tell your anxiety is clearly debilitating your ability to liveā. Of course I looked anxious! I had just blacked out while driving and was horrified that it could happen again since I wasnāt listend to! Ended up seeking medical attention elsewhere and actually found my heart health issue that wasnāt caused by being anxious. I donāt know how the other nurses or physicians assistants are but I was very disrespected and spent 7 hours total to be told to just calm down. Like I had caused myself to black out. I never write reviews like this but I would go literally anywhere else if you have an emergency. Found out my real heart problems immediately in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad to call Guilford Police as Triage RN refused admittance into ER with Respiratory Distress as I have a Service Dog and she stated ā we donāt allow dogs in the Emergency Roomā. My dog was vested, leashed and with appropriate equipment stating Medical Alert Service Animal Please do not pet, engage nor distract. Her vest clearly stated what she was, I answered ALL of her questions even those she asked illegally according to the ADA Federal Laws and encouraged her to please use her computer she was typing into to bring up the website to ā proveā to her that there was indeed no paperwork, license, nor certificate that ā comesā with us. I have never in my life at 63 yrs of age ever had to deal with such ignorance especially at a Yale facility, in respiratory distress, and a Cancer patient receiving radiation at the very same facility. After waiting in my air conditioned vehicle for the Guilford Police.to respond which she did very quickly; we spoke and I explained the situation and encouraged her to have better luck than I did. I simply could not believe that an Emergency Medical facility would allow an elderly patient with emphysema, asthma & COPD to have to explain to her that they were breaking federal law and she was my ā medical equipmentā that could cause the organization to be fined 10,000 and 1-3 yrs. years in prison as it is indeed a misdemeanor / felony charge in the eyes of the courts. The officer was very understanding and knew the ADA law , was surprised I wasnāt upset & yelling. I explained that I was having difficulty breathing and that would get you no where. Our best bet is to educate as many people as we can as even getting people NOT to engage whatsoever with my dog is a feat in and of itself walking into Yale. Some nurses as well as patients do not seem to understand that distracting my dog takes her attention off her job and she may miss an alert and itās myself who suffers. Please- explain to your friends , children, spouses. Please ignore my ā medical equipmentā!do not talk to her or make little noises to get her to look at you ā cause sheās sooo cuteā. Itās my life, I owe it to her. Thank you so...
