We had so much fun at Hippie Fish and it is a great addition to the Oasis Hotel area. We did the arcade, golf, and ate at the restaurant.
The arcade was okay. The prices are the exact same as other local places; however, I felt like there were ALOT of claw games and not many little kid friendly (easy to play) games. Our kids, ages 7,5,2 enjoyed watching the coin pusher games and playing the “whack a mole” type games, but there was not a lot of variety of other little games for them to enjoy. The ticket redemption store was what to be expected. Nothing surprising there. Honestly, the candy drop game is one of their favorites because it is a guaranteed win!
The restaurant was yummy. We were a large party and were seated very quickly. You can tell the servers/kitchen/bar are still working out the kinks, so it did take a bit to get drinks and food, but they only opened about two weeks ago, so not holding that against them. The food prices seemed high at first glance; however, the portion sizes are HUGE! The nachos could easily feed four adults as an appetizer. My kids split a cheese flatbread and loved it. The grilled chicken kids meal was fantastic but was seriously so big (could have fed an adult)! I definitely feel like the price could have been lower and a smaller amount of food, because it just seemed like a lot of waste, especially for the kids. Everything we ate was yummy though- no complaints on taste- and I would definitely try it again.
Putt Putt was my biggest complaint. $20 a kid and $25 an adult seemed SO high, even with the “play all day” incentive. It would have cost over $100 for my family to play 18 holes of putt putt golf. Again, my little lose interest after about 11 holes or so, so there was no way they would want to fully do both courses or play a second, or third, (or more) times. We decided to just let the kids play and while they enjoyed it, I think they would have rather do $40 more in the arcade. There is SO much to do in that area, that the “play all day” incentive just doesn’t seem efficient for families of little kids. Now, if there was an option to do either one round for a cheaper cost OR play all day, I think it would be more appealing to families. There are definitely those who would want to play multiple times, but it just didn’t fit for us to pay and play as a whole family for that cost— which is a bummer because we LOVE putt putt. From an adult perspective, the courses are beautiful and are set up very nicely though. There were a lot of water features that ran throughout and some beautiful oaks that provided lots of shade.
The bar area and pool table inside the building was a nice vibe and drinks were yummy. We loved the proximity to the Oasis as we could walk over and watch the fountains. Overall, we were pleased with the experience and will definitely try it again, especially when the kids are older and can do more in the arcade and can “hang” longer...
Read moreWent to play some mini golf but decided to grab a bite to eat first. Was sat, and in turn waited 15 minutes before getting drinks. Put in an appetizer, fried green tomatoes, and proceeded to wait for an entire hour until we received them. Food ended up being lesser quality compared to the price tag attached, and the wait time ultimately ruined the night. One redeeming quality however, is that the staff is very friendly, and the manager sorted us out in a pleasing manner. If I had the choice, I probably would not return except to play mini golf, as the course seems...
Read moreThis is our fifth summer to stay at the Oasis and we were so excited to get to try out Hippie Fish this year. The kids LOVED the arcade. There were tons of fun games and a good variety of prizes to pick from. Lunch was delicious and the view was amazing. After lunch, we played putt putt. We had so much fun! We came back and played more golf after the pool closed and it was beautiful at night. What a great addition to Centennial Plaza! We are already...
